Wednesday ‘Podge – How is it only Wednesday??

1. What do you find is the most boring part of your life at the moment?

Um, nothing about life right now is boring; I am BUSY. But I guess right this very moment, my editing queue is empty so the waiting for a bit of work can be boring. But that allows me time to blog so even then, not bored.

2. February 22nd is George Washington’s birthday. You’ll find his face on the US $1 bill. What’s the last thing you bought for roughly $1.00? (.94 €/ .83 £)

Um, I cannot think of anything that’s been a buck. Even vending machine stuff is 1.50 now.

3. Is it ever okay to tell a ‘little white lie’? Explain.

I am generally against lying because lies beget lies but in general, I think fudging here and there is ok if you’re saving someone from some strife that probably doesn’t matter in the long run.

4. What’s the last thing you ‘chopped’? Cherry pie, chocolate covered cherries, a bowl of cherries, cherry vanilla ice cream, maraschino cherries, a cherry lifesaver…your favorite cherry flavored something?

Hmm, I guess when I made guacamole last Thursday I chopped cilantro and jalapenos. It was good too! I like cherry ice cream and maraschino cherries but regular ones, not so much.

5. Describe yourself with three words using your first, middle, and last initials.

C – curious

J – just

S – strange

That was the best I could do with my initials!

6. Insert your own random thought here.

We decided to fast on Tuesday but then I realized it was Fat Tuesday and you normally bulk up that day and THEN fast but hey, Tuesday has always been my day to do it and we hadn’t in a hot second and well, I needed to do it. I was feeling blah and fat.

So today we will probably go have lunch together and I saved a piece of king cake in my office (because of course a member sent us one on Tuesday!) for later. Kind of excited about that. It’s from Gambino’s in New Orleans, which I know is good because my mom buys that brand in Pensacola.

I was actually quite productive yesterday once I got home from picking my daughter up from dance at 7. I made her some pizza roll-ups, did dishes, swept the kitchen, washed some brewing equipment, folded laundry, cleaned up around my room and logged some beer cans (we collect.) My parents are coming to stay with the kids this weekend and I started to wonder when in the heck I was going to clean! So a little here and there should do the trick.

Another long day ahead, leaving at 6:30 then grabbing Koda from one soccer field then Isaac from another then home. I am getting good about pushing myself through down times when I’d otherwise feel tired and lazy!

  1. Your day sounds like it was productive. I feel like retirement opens the door to a bit of ‘laziness’. I think I operated better when I had a stricter schedule. Guacamole is one of my top ten favorite foods : ) Hope you enjoy your weekend away!

  2. Yes, ‘fudging’ is such a softer word that lying. (*grin*)
Could you please send a bit of your motivation my direction? I usually do my best work in the 11th hour, then beat myself up after the fact.

  3. Yes, I liked your word “fudging” as well. Sounds like you will definitely have things in order before your time away this weekend. Enjoy!
