Friday Five – Clouds, sun, clouds – make up your mind!

  1. Well folks, we made it through another week. I don’t know where the time is going but I can tell you: it’s going fast. Weather was awful this AM but now the sun is out but then we are supposed to get rain right when I’m taking my daughter to dress rehearsal – OF COURSE.
  2. I successfully warded off some kind of illness at the end of last week but it was not without consequence: I ended up with two irritations in my mouth, on either side of the underside of my tongue, way in the back. It has made eating very difficult this week but luckily, the one on the right is feeling better. The other, not so much. I’ve been rinsing with a baking soda/water mix and putting peppermint and eucalyptus essential oils. Seems to be speeding up the process. In the end, not stressing is really the key.
  3. On Monday, I have a very long Zoom training session for the new on-campus tutoring job. I am excited to begin but also, worried about organizing my time. Weird that I was on campus all the time in Fall but none in Spring and Fall feels like a lifetime ago. At the same time, I put on a shirt today from a Tough Mudder we did in 2015 and it doesn’t feel like it was all that long ago but, seven years!
  4. I sat in the sun only one day this week, which makes me sad. I am happier when tan. Though, the next three weekends out at soccer should do the trick. On the 14th, we literally have games from 8-5. Five of them, to be exact. Then the next weekend is yet another tournament. Maybe only four games that day though. We’ll be bringing our beach umbrella though. The other parents do and we’ll just have a long line of shade.
  5. I am both stressed and prepared for tomorrow: my daughter goes to a birthday party with my husband while I take boys to back to back games. Then my parents get into town and my daughter has her dance recital at 3. We plan to head to dinner right after and hopefully it won’t be too crowded, what with Mother’s Day and all. Though I think people typically go out ON the day, either for breakfast or lunch. Most places don’t take reservations anymore so that’s out. But we’ll have to plan something. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!
