1. What happens to the mail at your house?
LOL most of it gets thrown away! So much junk. We put it on this one end of the kitchen counter. Usually, important things get dealt with and everything else sits until I deem it useless.
2. Something you always splurge on? Any guilt associated with the splurge?
I don’t do it all that often but I don’t hesitate to spend the 25 bucks on a pedicure when I get the feeling I want/need one. To me, it’s worth it and no, I do not feel guilty.
3. There are many, but what are two important questions you think every bride and groom should ask/answer before they plan their walk down the aisle?
Hmm, I think couples should have a pretty good idea for how the other handles finances, for one. Most arguments stem from that, I think. I also think they need to both be on board for the future: kids, houses, etc. As in, if you are on different wavelengths, that could cause huge issues.
4. What’s the best advice your father ever gave you?
Oh man, my dad had a way of teaching but I can’t really explain it. I think in terms of advice, he showed me, at least, to work hard because even though life throws crazy crap at you, hard work will pay off.
5. Your favorite movie where a father features heavily in the storyline?
Hard to say because there are so many! I love movies like Mr. Mom, The Incredibles, and Family Man to showcase dads dealing with various dad-like issues. All great.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Reeeaally thought it was Thursday for a second there; ugh! But that’s ok. Wednesdays are good. The boys have crazy hair day and pizza at camp and Koda is going to Chuck-E-Cheese so they are all in good moods.
I have to grade a lot today but that’s alright too; reminds me of the money I’m making. As an extra bonus, I logged into my online courses yesterday and noticed that they’d thrown a second section my way for the next 8 week session. Heck yeah! That really makes a huge difference in this part of the summer because at FSU, you can only teach in the first part of summer OR the second, and I have a course right now. So the last half is always a bit of a financial struggle.
We are fully seated in Summer now. For a little while I was still feeling the entrance into the season but now I think we’ve moved into FULL SUMMER MODE. Even in that though, mornings are still cool. Surprising because as I drove home yesterday – and stopped into the chiropractor – I noticed how ungodly warm it was. Then the bank sign said 91. And though my initial reaction was, ‘wow it’s hot’, I reminded myself that August is SO MUCH HOTTER. Gotta love Florida!
Your boys are adorable! I’m with you, the money spent for a pedicure is money well spent. I don’t even consider it a splurge.
We just returned from Florida. We moved away from there 18 years ago, and I am not sure how we ever lived there. (My husband is a native and lived there up until our move, and I had lived there 20 years.) We have gotten used to life without humidity, so we were dying the week we were there. And then we realized that had we been there in July or August, it would have been even hotter.
Thanks for popping by by Hodgepodge.
Blessings,

Yeah I don’t mind the humidity as much as most people but the late summer months do kind of wear on you!
Thanks for your visit. Your boys look like they could get up to all sorts of mischief with their hair like that lol. I don’t think anyone should feel guilty about pedicures either.
I receive a lot of mail most weeks, mostly letters from pen pals that sit next to my laptop till I answer them.
What I learnt from my father was that after going mad at a naughty child it is nice to go and talk things through when everyone has calmed down
Hello from NH! 91 degrees is not too warm for my wife. She doesn’t even break a sweat Me, I sweat just breathing. You have a couple of fine looking boys. Nice hairdo! Have a great week!
I lived in Punta Gorda for six years. I loved the people, my home, and all, but the heat just got to me. That’s when we moved back to New England!
