- This week passed surprisingly quickly; each day when the final bell rang I found myself shocked that class was over and I could go on with my day. It kind of sucks when things are spinning so quickly out of control because I realize where I am not spending any time or giving attention: the house. I don’t even remember barely looking at the yard this week beyond Monday when I worked in it. Between work and after work activities, I paid it no mind. But, now we can veer into the weekend!
- We sort of began our weekend last night because we were at the brewery. We had Ash’s main work fantasy league draft so we reserved one entire side and set up for about 24 people. It was a good time and I think my team will be ok. We decided to stay and do the trivia there, which was fun but also, not as good as where we normally go. I think we came in 9th out of 34 teams, which is just not that great.
- I have a half day today and I’m very excited about that. 30 minute classes are very doable, but I should still, y’know, plan and all. I think my second period creative writing class will do blackout poetry, which really is an art form in and of itself. Essentially, they each get a page that is an excerpt from an article or book and then they deliberately black out words as to leave specific ones, thereby making a new poem. We shall see how it goes; they’re mid-poem for an assignment but I thought this would be good for today.
- It’s supposed to rain today and my body knows it: terrible pressure headache. I did take something for it but so far, no progress. Hoping that drinking a ton of water and then, around 12:30, some hibachi will heal me. I mean, good food is always the solution, right? Well, hopefully I won’t feel too bogged down by it because Ash and I plan to clean the hot water heater later. I know that sounds riveting, right? It’s a tankless and apparently needs a yearly cleaning. Yeah… we have never done it. But lately, showers have been nice and hot then all of a sudden, cool, then just warm. Clearly a problem there.
- I am leaning towards cheesy 80s horror movies tonight and a drink or two. I need to spend some time relaxing my brain. Tomorrow involves watching soccer and not too much else, other than possibly looking for, hopefully finding and fixing, the hole in my pool liner. Such a constant source of stress!
