Friday Five – You take the good, you take the bad

  1. OK ok, nothing is really bad. I just hate paying the credit card bill. But when you pay it all every month, and then you pay the vacation month, it feels icky! BUT, let’s be thankful (and hopeful) that what this new repair shop told me about my car: it was just the cracked radiator and not way more problem, is true. I am going to pick it up later this morning.
  2. We went to trivia last night; didn’t win but got close. Oh well! It was still pretty fun. A massive storm blew through while we were there and this seems to be a thing lately. Crazy evening storms that come on ya fast, and they leave ya fast. And if anyone knows the movie I just quoted from, you get a cookie.
  3. OK, got my car back and it seems to be doing well. Let’s hope and pray that was all it needed. Drove back across town and went to Publix for all the things for tomorrow’s birthday party. It’s not cheap, and we’re just making tacos! I even got 12 cupcakes for less than a dollar a piece and the total was still more than I expected. I’m kind of over this current economy.
  4. On the subject of “currents”, it is crazy to me how many people are posting things defending Fauci. It just goes to show: people will see what they want to see. But sometimes the truth is just the truth and the truth is, he lied.
  5. I am glad it is Friday; I’m trying to get all my work work done so I can enjoy my last free weekend before going back to school. Next week is teacher in-service and next weekend will be dedicated to the Tallahassee Beerfest. I’ll be doing nothing on Sunday, thank you very much!

  1. Everything is crazy expensive! I hope the party goes well for your daughter- it’s a tremendous number to turn and she likely won’t remember the extravagance or non extravagance of her party, rather she will remember how special she felt with her friends at her birthday party which was made possible thanks to her loving and caring parents. (Assuming there’s not a terrible amount of drama and it’s a stressful party, ha! But we’re thinking positive here!!) Agree so much about Fauci. I think some people refuse to believe he lied because it’s the meanie/awful Republicans who are grilling him with questions and/or because they don’t want to admit they were duped. I can’t think of another explanation…

    1. That’s the only explanation I can think of. As the saying goes, “If Trump said he loved oxygen, the Dems would stop breathing.” And yes, I think my daughter will be happy regardless. Though this week, she’s certain been a typical 13 year old – very punchy and moody!
