1. How would you define ‘the good life’?
For me, it’s about balance. Working hard during the week – dealing with all the ups and downs of life – then being able to enjoy your nights and weekends. I love being able to sit by my pool and play with the kids and watch movies on a huge projector screen, etc. We live a “good life” because we planned and saved and didn’t make too many poor choices and now we reap the benefits.
2. What’s the most used app on your phone (and are you proud of that)?
It’s probably Facebook and honestly, I don’t even look at it much but I open it a lot. Either that or just messages. I text a lot. Like our host, I also make a lot of notes so that’s the one I use most often that is actually useful.
3. ‘Every rose has it’s thorn’, ‘everything’s coming up roses’, ‘looking through rose-colored glasses’, ‘it’s no bed of roses’ or ‘stop and smell the roses’…which rose idiom best relates to something in your life currently. Explain.
Stop and smell – because we leave in about an hour and a half for vacation! We are going to mosey our way from Boston to home over two weeks. I will definitely be stopping to take in the sights, sounds, and smells!
4. How do you feel about floral flavorings in food or drink (rose, hibiscus, elderflower, lavender)?
Eh, they’re ok. I went to coffee with a friend yesterday and they had a “limon lavender” muffin and I totally passed.
5. Over the course of your life what have you probably spent more time pondering than anything else?
Probably whether or not I’ll ever accomplish any of the big things I set out for myself that were not getting married and having kids. And by that I mean: have a higher paying job and write a book!
6. Insert your own random thought here.
You know what’s weird about vacation? You wake up in your own bed/home in the morning and then by the end of the day, you’re somewhere else entirely! Travel is such a disorienting thing, you know? We fly out in a bit then have a two hour layover in Atlanta. Despite the insanity of the Atlanta airport, I kind of don’t mind it. We’ve been there so many times it’s familiar now. We’ll probably eat lunch there then see what Boston has to offer for dinner. Apparently we are staying in the Chinatown area so though I’m planning to eat my fill of good old New England seafood, I might be indulging in some Asian as well!
I hate flying but I am trying to be strong. The flight from here to ATL is like, 40 mins and then the other is, I believe, just under 3. I have a book, though struggle to read because I can’t concentrate. We are in the row right after first class so maybe that will help me not feel so confined, which is usually my problem. I always think about the flight to Hawaii where I was feeling so trapped I just stood near the bathrooms (it was a huge plane) but the stewardess informed me I could not. Yeah, well, would you rather I have a panic attack and bother everyone? Alrighty then. I kid. I used to be worse but once we started flying with the kids, I had to be tougher than that.
I can’t guarantee I’ll be blogging but you never know. Sometimes when I sit down to do m online school stuff, I also check the blog. Hope y’all have a good rest of your week; I’m off to Boston!

Sounds like a fun trip! I love Aisan food, probably my favorite flavors, but we eat our weight in lobster rolls when we’re in the Boston and northward area. Safe travels and enjoy your getaway!
Planning for the future is so important and does help with the good life. Have a wonderful vacation. It sounds like you have some great plans.
