As noted in the sign up post, I decided to highlight beers I have liked. I know this sounds very surface but a lot of my personal life/hobbies revolve around it. We are homebrewers and I have – as of today – 4,582 unique check-ins on the app, Untappd. I keep track of all beers and rate them there. So, without further ado – Q!

Smith and Lentz is the other great brewery we went to in Nashville, after Barrique. They had a huge selection and amazing pizza. I mean, even if you aren’t a beer drinker I’d say go get some pizza there. Are you familiar with Dave Portnoy? He’s know for creating Barstool sports but also, the “One bite, everybody knows the rules” pizza tasting phenomena. He goes around the world tasting pizza and rating it. There is even an app (called One Bite) and for this place, he gave it an 8.1 – which is high for him! He’s not wrong; it was so tasty and crisp and crunchy and everything you want in a thin pizza.

Anywho, we had two flights there in late July, 2025 and their light styles were fantastic. While the name of this pilsner is not spelled quite right to signify they named it after the German town of Quakenbrück, it garnered and almost unheard of 4.25 from both of us. So crisp and bready – everything I want in this style. I have but one photo of us in this place but it features my husband mid-bite so it’s rather unflattering. Needless to say, this brewery and pizza joint hit the spot!
