1. As the saying goes, ‘March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.’ Did your March come in roaring or like some other animal? Every month carries with it certain feelings, which is why some people love and anticipate December and others dread it. How do you feel about the month of March?
I don’t know, it’s a bit too soon to tell. Everything is ok for now. I never mind March. Weather-wise it’s either cold, nicely Spring-y, or rainy. So far, it’s a bit warm. It’s always a busy month, ending with my birthday, which I never mind.
2.Where in your life are you a lion? Where are you a lamb?
That is an interesting question! Lion – in one of my college jobs, I feel like I’ve been aggressive about getting things done on time, if not early, and better about communication. Lamb, I guess in my timidity to accept that I have gotten behind in other classes. Ugh.
3. The Hodgepodge lands on National Pound Cake day. Do you like pound cake? If so do you have a favorite flavor? Let’s play this or that-
My mom makes a heavy sour cream pound cake that is amazing, so long as you put some whip cream or ice cream on it. To the pie question, it depends on what kind. I am not exactly fond of pies with flaky crust. I’d prefer a no bake pie with graham cracker crust.
- pound cake or layer cake?
- pound cake or cheesecake?
- pound cake or angel food cake?
- pound cake or brownie?
- pound cake or pie?
4. What makes you feel childlike wonder right now?
The way the sun is rising earlier but also staying up later, prior to the time change.
5. What’s one thing you need to add to your wardrobe to get ready for spring? If you’re in the southern hemisphere, then answer for fall?
I need a few more pairs of shorts. Though after losing about 5 pounds now, the ones I have fit fine. I just feel like I haven’t gotten any in a while and need a new style. I buy some from Bass Pro shop I like but haven’t looked in a while; I’m sure they have changed.

Last evening was nice: I went home and napped, which I never do anymore. But I was driving home and just felt exceedingly tired. I slept for maybe 40 minutes. I forgot to turn my phone down and my sister and mother were having an intense text conversation about one of the most disgusting corndogs I’ve ever seen, that my sister was chowing down on. Ugh. But after, I got the kids started on making some food and then met a couple friends for sushi. Shortly before we wound down, Ash got back from his 48 hours whirlwind trip to south Florida, and we then watched Oklahoma. It had been a good long while since I’d seen it – I LOVE the soundtrack – and he wanted to watch it before we watch the new movie, Blue Moon, which is about one of the people who worked on it. The movie was great, even better than I remember.

I love that movie too, and the music. I hadn’t heard of the movie coming out but will watch for it. I need shorts too. Mine get worn and washed a lot, and in general I feel like summery clothes wear out faster than winter. Have a great day!
Happy birthday for the end of the month! This is the 2nd time today I have read about a sour cream pound cake. I need to try. Last night sounds like a wonderful evening!
Now I’m going to be humming tunes from O.K.L.A.H.O.M.A. Oklahoma! Yee-ow! I hope you have a great day!!
