Random Tuesday – Oh, it’s on

  • Ash left early today for his conference, which is actually taking place in the city where I spent the first 15 years of my life. It’s going to be hot and rainy but hopefully it’ll be successful. I miss him when he is gone but it’s always nice to be apart for a little while. We always appreciate each other more when we get back together.
  • On Sunday, my son had an unfortunate incident with syrup. He called from work to tell me he ordered pancakes (from the restaurant where he works, obviously) and then ate them in his car during his break. But there was apparently a hole in the container they put it in so it leaked all in his lap and onto his car seat! They let him go home to change and then later when he got home, I cleaned the seat. I think I got it all out but I was waiting for it to dry. His car had the very distinct scent of maple though!
  • Making meals my kids want this week; stuff Ash probably doesn’t particularly care for. One of those is meatballs. Not just any meatballs but the ones in the crockpot with grape jelly and chili sauce. My middle child loves it! I’ll probably do mashed potatoes as well. I need to eat healthy or at least, less, this week. I have the opportunity to really cleanse but I don’t know; it’s 8 am and I am already hungry. I am randomly dreaming of a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese and tomato.
  • To be fair, we had lunch early yesterday (11ish) and nothing else all day, as well as I walked 18, 514 steps yesterday! Definitely my highest number in a while. We walked 4 miles in the evening before I was just DONE. So tired and my feet were definitely hurting. But of course, I had to get Ash all packed up, etc. A wife/mom’s work is never done!
  • On Saturday, we’re going to a friends’ waterslide party. Should be pretty fun, even though we don’t know a lot of other people. Our neighbors know them but they’re going to be out of town, sadly. I’ll make the best of it.
  • OK, off to be productive. Happy Tuesday!

  1. Now I’m craving those meatballs! Do you make your own or buy frozen? I could do those for the Young Adults on Tuesday nights along with mashed potatoes! I might add it to my rotation.

    1. I buy frozen. Just the regular beef kind. But you know what is really good if you can find them (and I have at Costco) are Aidell’s chicken teriyaki and pineapple meatballs. They just turn out better. But I can’t always get over there.

  2. Now I’m graving the meatballs too. Stop that! lol Did the grocery shopping about 8 am because it’s supposed to be sticky hot again. Might rain. Hope so because it’s so dry right now. Now I should be in the kitchen cooking the dog chicken gizzards, making our keto chocolate “bombs” for after supper, cutting up the Amish butter so it will fit in the butter dish … well, you get the idea. Here I am sedentary keeping my right foot in the air. The sprain is better but still there. What a bore. Prayers the days go quickly for you and hubby returns all safe and sound. 💙

    1. Yeah those meatballs are def not keto but the kids like them! A little hot here already and not going to rain, sadly. My lawn really needs it!

  3. ¨My son had an unfortunate incident with syrup¨wins the internet for me today (though I do feel badly for him about the incident). Not laughing at him! Love those crock pot meatballs… La Petite Fussy one loves them as well so sometimes I make them for her for events so I know she will get some protein (you know, when she won´t eat the turkey or the ham). I hope the conference goes well!

    1. Yeah I felt bad he had that happen but at the same time, he should have been paying attention…or eating inside! I understand why he goes to his car – to get away from the chaos – but still.
