Wednesday ‘Podge – Well, it’s November…

1. Besides Thanksgiving (in the USA) what’s one thing you’re looking forward to in November?

It sounds kind of weird but just tackling it. It’s gonna be BUSY and I just want to get into it and get to work. Also, I have to work on re-integrating running into my life so once I know my general schedule and workload, I can set that and it makes me feel good having a plan.

2. Do you like candles? Your favorite scent? How often do you burn a candle in your home?

I used to but then a friend of ours who built and fixed homes told us how the oils go into your walls and pretty much start to ruin them. Now, have I ever seen the outcome of that? No, but still. They have toxins in there that are not actually safe to be inhaled anyway. I liked the one that was called Clean Cotton, from Yankee. I NEVER burn them anymore.

3. What gadgets did you use today?

Hmm, phone mostly. I can’t think of any others.

4. This question is a repeat from one asked in November of 2014, but I liked it so it’s coming round again. Many of you weren’t here in 2014. Okay, you can have fifty pounds of something (anything but money)…what will you choose? Also, since I mentioned it…what were you up to in November of 2014?

Ok so you said no money but how about gold bars? Good investment.

Here’s a link to my first post of November, 2014.

5. ‘Tis the season…what’s something you’re feeling especially grateful for today?

I guess just… everything. Mostly family. I was a little worse for wear last night; just exasperated and tired and frustrated with all the weight of things and Ash helped me through it. He always says people need a good cry and he’s not wrong. Then I heard Paul Anka’s Times Of Your Life on the radio and I cried in my car because my dad picked that as our wedding dance song and I will never not think of him when that comes on. So yeah, thankful for the people in my life.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

As noted, just feeling tired. Not sleepy but you know, life-weary. I shouldn’t though; nothing is very hard right now. I mean, we are managing. We’ve just had a lot of days with activities but then, when we don’t have plans, I always feel like I should be doing something – cleaning or house stuff. I have a problem relaxing.

Tonight we don’t have much. I need to dig out the pirate costume for my daughter for Friday, as it is spirit week. Then she apparently needs to bring in some kind of “booty”; I’ll be going to Hobby lobby for chocolate coins. My oldest has a job interview this afternoon so, fingers crossed, prayers, etc. The boy needs money! I am glad for a relatively low-key night. Tomorrow is Isaac’s end of season cross country celebration then this weekend, his final soccer tournament until Spring season. I am ready for a break!

  1. I Googled and it’s $1,118,600. I think I’ll trade my 50 pounds for gold bars and then donate them to the Humane Society (50 pounds of dog and cat supplies was my answer). The gold bars would buy a whole lot more supplies! Good luck to your son on his interview. Chocolate coins are great booty!

  2. I think we (women especially) have to get to a place where we can say rest is something. A nap is worthwhile and often life-giving to our family if it cures the crankies : ) You really are in probably the busiest season of parenting too with everybody needing something and needing to get somewhere and whew, it’s exhausting. I like the gold bar answer. With the way things are going probably a great idea too!

  3. Dang I thought of gold bars but didn’t list it. You are right about the toxins and oils in candles. They are not good for breathing – or your lungs. yeah, they smell nice and all – there are natural ways to make your home smell nice without the chemicals and toxins in scented candles. Good answers.

  4. Family life is sooo busy especially with sports thrown in. I do hope you get back some energy and that you feel better. Ha! Gold bars…why didn’t I think of that.

  5. I loved your gratitude answer. Yes, sometimes we do just need a good cry to get all the feels out, and what a blessing it is to have someone to support you and understand when you’re at that point! I also suggested fifty pounds of gold! Hope you have a blessed November!

  6. Enjoyed reading your answers. Hope you get that all worked out for running. That had to be emotional hearing that song. ((Hugs)) I’ve been tired and weary. Take care and God Bless You.

  7. Realized I never commented from last week, so better late than never. I hope you have an amazing November. Enjoyed your answers. Our November is busy too. I agree with the toxins in the candles. I’m pretty picky if I ever buy them. Sending you hugs! I agree with you on the life-weary. I’ve been feeling “something” and maybe that’s just it.
