MMMM + A little sub-par today

Sometime around 8 last night my stomach just started to hurt; it was cramping and I just didn’t feel right. I wracked my brain to figure out what it could have been – everyone ate the same yesterday though and they were fine. I made tacos and guac. But let’s go back in time to…

…Friday, when I skipped lunch and left the office at 3:30 so I could snag Dakota from camp, squeeze in a run, then go to dinner. We decided to do Ash’s father’s day meal that night instead of Sunday. He chose Carrabba’s instead of hibachi and even though I dislike Italian, that’s the one place I allow because they have enough other good stuff. And indeed, it was a great meal. Every kid was happy and so was Ash. Mine was really good: pork tenderloin wrapped in prosciutto and I had mashed potatoes and asparagus with it. Didn’t even finish, there was so much!

After dinner, Ash and I went up to Deep because they released a new pale ale. It was actually really good! We only stayed an hour then came home and played Golden Tee with the kids for a bit. Managed to avoid storms that day, which was a surprise. Last week we had terrible rain storms that knocked power out.

Saturday I got up and was on a mission to accomplish stuff. And we did: got the pool vacuumed, got to Costco and Publix, cleaned up some hedges and did other various house cleaning. I may have already mentioned that we had an event at 2 to can the wee heavy. The club brewed it in December of 21 and then we barrel-aged it, now it was ready to can. We had a good turn-out so we began the assembly line: one person grabs a can (that we all wrote on the labels for beforehand), hands it to the guy to add Co2 to the bottom, then the next person fills, the next person puts the lid on and uses the canning machine to seal it, then the next person wipes it down, and finally, someone snaps it into a four or six pack.

We have enough beer for probably about 240 cans but one of the kegs wasn’t quite carbonated enough so we just did about 100. It was a good bit of work! But also fun; we drank and socialized and it was a good time. We even got back home before the rain got too bad but then, the power went out again. It was lighter that day than the previous time we’d lost power so we got out Life and played in the sun room until it came back on. We watched a movie that night and I, of course, fell asleep.

Sunday morning I got up and started on laundry and cleaning and did a 2 mile run. My parents were coming through town for lunch so I made food and they arrived right around 12. It was a nice meal and good to see them. I had found a woman online who does custom cakes so I purchased German chocolate cake cupcakes for my dad, since they’re his favorite, and I met her up the street to get them. He was really surprised! Dakota and Isaac swam and my parents left around 3. I took a quick nap, we walked about 2 miles in the evening, then started watching The Rock until Dakota fell asleep. And then that’s where I started feeling bad, etc…

I’m much better today, though having a lot of back pain lately. Started looking into more stretches for lower back and also, hip flexors. The good thing about my office is I can close my door at any time so at least I can do that stuff while at work. I leave at 2:30 today to get my car aligned. It’s also my keto day so I made a salad with Havarti, hard-boiled eggs, ham, and mushrooms. I also have a handful of pecans so hopefully the clean eating will clear up my stomach issues. Should have remembered my ACV though; dangit!

Freebie week and here’s a random song I’ve liked lately. Never heard of the group before but since Motionless in While is on this one, I stumbled upon it.

  1. Happy belated Father’s Day to Ash! Your weekends are so involving. I’m glad everyone had a good time and I’m happy you’re feeling better now. Thanks for the music/band introduction and for joining the 4M party, my dear!

    1. You were one sick gal. I’ve been there and now it’s regaining your strength. You still had a good weekend it seems. This song is not my thing…I don’t like that devil sounding heavy metal sound. Just me:)

      1. Actually, I did listen and parts were good but then he went into that voice that others use and I don’t like it. It just feels …evil sounding. Hahaha…just me.

  3. Busy weekend; a shame it had to end up with being sick. It hopefully is a 24 hour bug. As for your song: The other day I heard this on the Octane channel on XM/Sirius (hard rock station my husband listens to) and the DJ talked about Illenium – said he is a DJ that grew up in the United States and in France. I had never heard of him but apparently he already has 5 albums out. Alana ramblinwitham
