Wednesday ‘podge – I might and I may

1. What’s something you ‘may‘ do this month?

Feel like myself again? Feel caught up? After Friday I can take some time off and work shorter days. I. Can’t. Wait.

2. “All things seem possible in May“~Edwin Way Teale. Do you agree? Elaborate. If not May, then in which month if any would you say all things seem possible?

I mean, with the right attitude, all things can seem possible any time. I would say that any of the summer months feel like that to me. Except maybe August because things get busy again then so I have to carefully organize and might not make some events due to overbooking.

3. April showers bring May flowers…is this true where you live? What’s your favorite color of the rainbow? Your favorite May bloom? Do you enjoy visiting gardens? What’s a ‘famous’ garden you’d like to visit?

Yes, we have had some rain (some crazy storms too) and things are in bloom, especially my gardenias. Favorite color? Blue I guess. I think I like the gardenias best but we have a tea tree that smells amazing too. I am not much into gardens but I would walk around one if the chance presented itself. We have Maclay gardens here and it’s where I got married.

4. Are you a fan of the Star Wars series of films? If so how many have you seen? (I think there are 12) Are you a fan of the sci-fi genre in general, in either books or movies? What’s your favorite sci-fi book or movie?

Hmm, touchy subject. I used to love Star Wars and the first ones (4-6) are still pretty awesome. but after that they slowly declined and I kind of hate it all. I do like sci-fi but I can’t think of anything specific. I’d like 1984 but that’s not fiction anymore! LOL.

5. Cinco de Mayo lands on Friday of this week…do you enjoy Mexican food? How often? Do you eat out or make your own? Your favorite thing to order in a Mexican restaurant? Have you ever been to Mexico?

I would literally eat Mexican food in some form every day. I would say I try to eat it at least twice a week and we both eat out and make it. I make a mean guacamole! My favorite thing is usually a bowl of some type or Mexican chicken, so, chicken with a cheese and pico spicy sauce. And yes, we have been. We went to Merida in the Yucatan, so, not the touristy area. We went to a wedding there and got to swim in the cenotes! (pictured below and then also, our hotel.)

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Been a long week already. Right now, Tuesday, I have worked Monday, 6:30-5:30 then today, 6:30-6:30. The members are going to be on the floor late but my boss is letting us go and then we have to monitor from home because amendments could come in. I’d rather be doing it at home, that’s for sure. If I have to work on something, no big deal. But I don’t want to be here any more. Methinks both Wednesday and Thursday could go long too but we’ll see. I am really crossing my fingers that Friday is early. Most of my coworkers say they try to finish up by 1 or 2 and at that point, we get to leave. It’s something to look forward to for sure. If that’s the case, I’m going home to drink Mexican beer!

Ok, it’s Wednesday now and they must have heard a bit more about early Friday because the office moved our celebratory taco bar to tomorrow instead of Friday. Hoo buddy; if we get to go early? I am SO going to meet my husband for lunch and drinks and then do NOTHING. I mean, I might sit in the sun or lounge in my pool. Admittedly, it’s still been cool here so the pool temp is not swimmable yet. At least, not as far as I am concerned. I am just ready to breathe the sigh of relief.

  1. It sounds like celebrations are coming your way! I, too, make a mean guac! Everyone always asks me to bring it. The pic of the bowl of guac that I posted was about 30 avocados and it took a while to make!

  2. I hope you get off early and enjoy that meal and drinks with your husband. That swim in Mexico looks incredible. The water….
    Happy May to you!

  3. I hope you do get off early and can celebrate/relax with your husband! That hotel in Mexico looks amazing. I mean, I’m not sure I’d need to see anything else with a hotel that gorgeous! Happy Hodgepodge!

  4. That looks like an amazing swimming spot! 1984-sadly too true! Guacamole is one of my favorite foods and I love my recipe (which came from my mom), but I would be up for anyone’s recipe pretty much. Enjoy your early break and celebrations!

  5. 1984, yep. I was thinking the same thing recently. Let’s all enjoy wherever and whenever we can!
