Somehow it shocks me that it is March but I’m actually excited because I’m about to start my long 60 days of session then it’s over!
1. Hello March! Is it coming in like a lion where you live? How do you feel when it rains?
It’s been a warm couple months, whereas it is normally kind of cool these first few months so who knows what March will bring. I HATE when it rains. One brief storm? Sure, that’s fine, especially when we need it to wash away pollen. But dreary days on end kills my soul.
2. What’s something you’d like to do differently this week than the last? Explain.
Hmm, go home on time? And I am. Last week I didn’t leave before 6:30 any day but this week I can leave slightly before 5 so that means I can catch up on meal prep, cleaning, and my children.
3. March 1st is National Sunkist Citrus Day…do you drink orange juice? Orange, lemon, lime, tangerine, grapefruit…what’s your favorite citrus fruit? A dish you love with a citrus fruit as one of it’s key ingredients?
God no, orange juice is full of sugar. I enjoy grapefruit a lot but I have kind of cut citrus since we did the keto thing before. Sometimes I will buy those little tangerines for the kids and I’ll have one. I use lime in my guac and I enjoy anything lemon flavored.
4. What do you consider to be your culture. Elaborate.
Hmm, that’s tough. I typically think of it as being Southern. I grew up in South Florida but I have a lot of Alabama family and then once I moved to Tallahassee, I adopted the slower Southern way of life; hospitality, kindness, etc… But I am involved in different activities that have their own culture: the running community, the metal community, etc. I move through each of them in ways.
5. Sum up your February in fifteen words or less.
Long days at work, holding onto some semblance of reality
6. Insert your own random thought here.
I woke up in a pretty good mood today. Helps that my oldest wasn’t being a total ass. 15 year olds can be so up and down. But he agreed to get his haircut at the place he doesn’t prefer. He needs a haircut badly but his barber does not work hours that I can make, with my new job. Not until after May 5th when I can take time off.
Southern is good and it’s always a good thing when a teenager wakes up in a good mood. lol
I spent most of my growing up years in NJ, but am southern at heart : ) We move in several circles as well and each are a part of us in some way. Glad your teenager made life easier today!
After 35 years in Atlanta, I now understand the phrase “American by birth, Southern by the grace of God.”
They’re forecasting thunderstorms here, so I guess March is coming in like a lion. For all I know, it’ll leave like a lion, too.
I used to like grapefruit juice, but it doesn’t go well with my blood pressure meds, or so they tell me.
Yep, 15-year-olds can be tricky to catch in a good mood. Glad yours started out the day right! I agree with you on the dreary days – too many in a row and I get dreary as well.
We finally have a few days with no rain. Of course we do need the rain in California. Glad you started to leave work on time. Hope you are still in a good mood. Enjoy your weekend.
I enjoyed your answers. My daughter has a dog that is being a pill and the breeder was like “she’s in her teenage phase..you look at her and think “you are you?”..lol! Finally getting around to commenting on posts from last week…couldn’t quite get around to posting this week 😦
