1. Pantone’s color of the year for 2023 is Viva Magenta. Etsy’s color(s) of the year are indigo and honeycomb. Your thoughts? Would we find any of these three shades in your home or wardrobe? Is there a room in your house that needs painting this year? Will you do it yourself or hire out?
I think indigo and honeycomb are nice and even nice together. I’m not a magenta kind of person unless it’s a toe nail polish color. And yes, we kind of need to just touch up everywhere. Elliot’s room needs to be painted. It’s a dark blue (from when we moved in) and I promised him we’d do it but never make time! I will do it…eventually.
2. Something you had to do recently that could be described ‘as exciting as watching paint dry’?
Hmm, I have been so busy that I haven’t found myself in a situation like that. I typically think this might apply to having to wait, like at a doctor’s office.
3. Who would you most like to sit beside on a 10-hour flight? Tell us why? Have you ever taken a 10-hour flight?
Yes I have take one (I think Hawaii is that far). I guess I’d like to sit next to my husband first and foremost but if we’re talking make-believe, Chris Motionless. I want to know everything about him and his band.
4. What’s something you did growing up that would get you into trouble?
Oof, talking back to my parents. And now, I get that right back from my own kids. Sigh.
5. According to Google the top searches in 2022 were- Wordle, election results, Betty White, Queen Elizabeth, Bob Saget, Ukraine, Mega Millions, Powerball numbers, Anne Heche, and Jeffrey Dahmer.
Hmmm…what does this say about us? How many of these words did you search last year? What would you guess was your most ‘googled’ word/phrase/question.
I can tell you with almost 100% surety that I googled none of those this year. I probably googled song lyrics most. I look for random stats or restaurant hours probably next most often.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
I was not particularly motivated this morning but I think I am getting there, now that I’m in the office. I slept GREAT but had weird-o dreams again. I was bitten by something and covered in these red splotches that hatched horrible tapeworm like creatures that you could pull out to survive but then you had to wrestle them into submission. Ugh, what the heck??
Something wonderful that happened yesterday: I saw that one of my favorite bands, Ghost, is going out on tour and of course, many things kept me from even entertaining the idea: two hours away on a Wednesday, my husband saying he doesn’t want to go to any more shows, and just general malaise about making the effort. Well, I texted him saying that the date would work and I’d just go alone. It’s typically attended by mostly women anyway and at a pretty safe area of Jacksonville. Well, a friend of his was thinking about going too so my hubs said to go ahead and get tix and he’d go. So now, we have the tix, his friend got one too, and all I have to do is book an airbnb. I’m super excited! It’s not until late August but I think it’ll work out.
I haven’t done anything quite as dull as “watching paint dry” in quite awhile, either!
And I also think indigo and honeycomb are sort of nice together. And I haven’t googled any of those words.
Oh song lyrics is a good answer. We probably google more info on the singers/bands than actual lyrics. Glad you got the tickets…it’s nice to have something to look forward to!
I wish I’d thought to say song lyrics! What a delight to be able to have that information at our fingertips. I’m embarrassed to remember the days I’d be singing them wrong.
Pantone’s color of the year did almost nothing for me, but I liked the indigo and honeycomb combo.
I’ve been on several long flights, most recently (i.e. about 17 years ago) to Singapore, and no one was seated beside me, and I was happy…
I would prefer sitting next to no one too but these days, they jam people in.
There are some things that just aren’t safe to google. I google lyrics, too. Yes, I think honeycomb and indigo would be nice together. Hope the rest of your week goes well.
Oh yeah, talking back. I forgot about that one and I did get in trouble for that, but not until I was in my teens.
Yeah, I think it comes naturally to some people. LOL.
I enjoyed reading your answers. The talking back….what goes comes around. LOL That is very exciting about the tickets for the concert.
I often google song lyrics.
