Wednesday ‘Podge

1. August 24th is National Waffle Day…what’s something you’ve ‘waffled’ on recently?

Well, I waffled on taking a third class at the community college and I shouldn’t have because it got snapped up before I made the decision to do it. Money down the drain!

2. Do you like waffles? Make your own or ‘leggo my Eggo? Any favorite toppings or add-ins? Waffles or pancakes-which do you prefer?

Eh, I don’t typically eat breakfast and when I do, I prefer savory over sweet. Every now and then I will eat pancakes or french toast but never waffles. The kids used to make Eggos but now they have moved onto these frozen pancakes. My oldest spreads Nutella on them and wraps each one up with a piece of bacon inside.

3. Do you have any momentos from this summer (or past summers)? What do you do with them?

There was a brief period of time that I was gathering little things like shells or sand or other found items and putting them in small glass jars to display. I think that’s pretty fun. Last summer we found some actual in-tact silver dollars and I bleached them and made a little shadowbox for my beachy bathroom. I guess I don’t really have any from this summer but my son collected an empty shell from the salute they gave my grandpa at his funeral and his displaying it with the little card memento from the funeral home.

4. One thing you’d like to do before summer ends?

Hmm, I guess go out on my neighbors’ pontoon boat. They invited us but we just haven’t found the time. We’d just go down to St. Marks but still, it would be nice.

5. Life is too short to___________________________________.

Stress about the little things. But do I? Sure! We all do, probably. It’s so easy to get caught up in that stuff, right?

6. Insert your own random thought here:

Well, I am making it through this week with slightly more confidence than I normally have. Maybe it’s the promise of a new term, more money, and a plan to save more and more.

Maybe it’s the fact I have an interview on Monday. Same place I had one for before but they never called back. Sounded like they needed a diversity hire so, eh, what can you do? But maybe this time!

What’s not helping is the very bad run I had this morning. I was just so tired. No energy at all. And I ate a carby meal last night so it doesn’t much make sense. But these things happen; just have to push through. Tomorrow, I don’t have to leave the house until 10:30 so I can squeeze in a recovery 2 miles and hopefully also get some things done around here.

  1. Oops about that class getting snatched up. Hope that ride can happen soon. The sound of a pontoon ride sounds so peaceful. Hope the rest of your week goes well.

  2. Sorry about your class. That wrap your oldest makes sounds pretty interesting. I love finding whole silver dollars on the beach. Yes, I believe we all stress about the little stuff. Wish I wouldn’t. Good luck on your interview.
