1. Feb 2nd is Groundhog Day in the US of A. Tell us about one day you wouldn’t mind living over again, and why you chose that day.
I’m not sure I can think of one that was super amazing but maybe if I went back through my blog, I’d find a weekend recap that reminded me of one great Saturday. If I had to pin down something else, maybe one of the days Ash and I spent on our 10th anniversary in Hawaii. Those were some good times.
2. Something you know beyond a ‘shadow of a doubt’?
That that many people did not vote for Biden – I MEAN – whoa, did I say that? Ok, wrong answer, if I want to keep the peace around here. LOL. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I made the better choice for my life by quitting the office job. It’s been a while now and sometimes I get panicky about how my life is crazy with multiple online jobs but I look back at how awful it was working there and I know I am better off.
3. Give us an example of history repeating itself in some way, in your own life or the lives of your children.
I cannot think of anything specific but an argument I had with my oldest son yesterday reminded me of when I was a teenager and mad at my parents for little things too. He said all the same things I would have and I was out of control. Funny how kids act the same and so do parents!
4. Snowed under, snow job, not a snowball’s chance, snowbird, on thin ice, snug as a bug in a rug, tip of the iceberg, snowball effect, run hot and cold….choose a wintry idiom and tell us how it best applies to your life right now.
Run hot and cold, for sure. As noted before, I hate the beginning of the year and it makes me feel both renewed and like a dang zombie. I was not feeling well yesterday but managed to turn it around. So I literally run from being freezing to comfortable and my mood, one end of the spectrum to the other.
5. Your favorite sign of spring?
I don’t want to be lame and say flowers or new growth but for Florida, that’s definitely true. However, the real Springtime sign for me is when I see the rabbits in the yard. Now, oddly enough, I saw one the other day! Elliot saw a squirrel and went running for the bb gun and while I watched the rodent for him, a bunny hopped out from under my deck. That is when I realized that under the deck, under some concrete close to the brick there is a hole. Great! I don’t mind rabbits but I don’t want them living under my home. However, we have enough snakes that any true problem may get handled by nature.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
It’s been a heck of a week; I’ve been super busy with work stuff but I am staying on top of things. I am relying on food to comfort me through my stress and the cold. In fact, I can’t decide if we want to make sous vide steaks tonight or go out for pizza. Our friend brought some beer from a local brewery that we have not tried yet but they just canned so I’m thinking one of those, then Momo’s for pizza and beer, then home to be cozy. Supposed to be 29 tomorrow morning but make it to 61 by day’s end, thankfully. Ash’s friend is coming over tomorrow to help him mount the projector and it will be nice to get it and the big AV cart it is sitting on OUT of my living room. That was a temp solution but I am so ready to have the unsightly metal thing out of there.
Guess I will try to squeeze in a run today after meeting with students (online of course). My heel has been bothering me more than usual so that was my trepidation about going yesterday, my usual run day. The cold is present no matter when I choose to go so that won’t matter! I’ll just grab my gloves and ear cover and head out. Sometimes cold running is really enjoyable. When humidity is low, I seem to breathe better.
I’m feeling pretty happy about things today, actually. The week is going just slow enough I don’t feel overwhelmed but not fast enough either. Funny how people wish for time to speed up but then bemoan the fact that it is past. Our folly as humans!
Hope the rest of your week runs more smoothly! So many ways to answer the questions this week. I think flowers are a brilliant sign of Spring. 🙂 Happy Hodgepodge to you!
Hawaii sounds like it was a fun trip
Love your answer to #2…
Right?? 😉
Hawaii sounds lovely right about now. I mean if things were normal. Ugh. We’re all growing beyond weary with it all and the goalposts keep shifting which isn’t helpful. Hang in there! Pizza and beer sound like a win to me. We have no pizza delivery in our area so often make our own. Hope the rest of your week swings upward!
I took a picture of my pizza to show my sister and she though I made it, funny enough.
I love that you saw a bunny in your yard! For some reason, thinking about that bunny made me smile from ear to ear. I’m a walker, not a runner, and I’ve been having trouble with my heel, too. Of course I researched it online (google is a doctor, right?) and I thought I had plantar fasciitis but yesterday I noticed that there is actual bruising on the heel. So back to google doctor — I’m hoping that I literally have a bruised heel. I told my boss that I would be wearing tennis shoes to work every day this week. I’ve been walking SLOWLY on the treadmill and riding the stationary bike this week.
The PF issue is certainly one of constant upkeep. It heals then bruises again; an annoying cycle!
well… you went and blew that answer lol…. anyways daffodils for me are the first sign of spring and that means warmth is not that far behind. Loved reading your answers come see ours at http://shopannies.blogspot.com
LOL I like to be controversial sometimes; remind people that we’re all different and that is ok!
