- This week feels like I have a bit more of a grasp on the things I have to get done for each job. It could have to do with the fact that I finally figured out how to grade my prisoners’ papers. I kind of put it off a bit because the navigation of the site was so wonky but once I did, I felt ten times better. It’s like when you realize you have to make a phone call or do some task and it feels momentous so you procrastinate, then when you finally do it, it takes five minutes and you sit there wondering why you didn’t do it before!
- I realize that today is October 1st so that means: more fall decorating! I got pretty organized this year and put out Fall stuff early in September. Then, I have all my Halloween stuff waiting in the wings. It helps that Dakota and Isaac are super into it too. When they want to help, I am much more likely to do it.
- Can you believe it’s October? I’m surprised myself. Definitely ready for slightly cooler air. I know I live in Florida and all but we do get nice Fall weather from time to time. The new pool cover came today so as soon as it is really time to wrap up, we’ll install. But for now, it is still warm enough for some afternoon swims.
- So, I have put a good portion of all the crap that happened at my old job behind me. I try not to think too much about it. But I found out something the other day that made my blood boil at the same time as made me laugh at the irony. So remember how my boss made me work 8-5 when I had been working 8-4:30? I poured my heart out to her in appeal after her first no. I felt it was not unreasonable to ask for that extra 30 (subsequently taking a shorter lunch) to get myself home to be with my kids. She was completely bent on keeping me there until 5. Well, I found out that she now works 8-4:30…so she can go home and train for some half marathon. Are you kidding me? I get it; years before, I utilized my earlier leave time to run – before my kids were coming home from school and I was in a rush to get to them. But wow. Just…wow! I almost can’t believe it. But for real, karma will come for her. It will.
- Today, I’m grading prisoner papers then going to the chiropractor. I have been in bad shape the last week, though I’d been doing well for probably two months. I cannot wait to get adjusted! After that, I’m meeting Ash for lunch at Chuy’s. Honestly, having two days off during the week is so amazing.
- So I spent most of the early 2000s ignoring Slipknot and Stone Sour. I don’t know why. You can’t be into all the music all the time. But now it gives me something else to rediscover and I am so excited about it.
- OK time to get some work done.
Not into Halloween here, I will admit some of the decorations are nice though
Karma willl bite your former boss in the bum
