Yeah, it is already one of those Mondays. Everyone’s annoyed or has issues and I have to fix them. But that’s ok; that’s my job. Anywho, you ready for the weekend recap? Are ya? Are ya??

SO, Friday, Ash and I took our half day. We had hibachi and beer then saw Equalizer 2. It was ok. I enjoyed it while watching it but it was one of those films where, when you finished and thought about it, turned out to have a lot of holes and issues. But I haven’t seen a really good movie in a long time, so what did I expect? We picked up the kids a bit early then went home to swim. Soon after, Ash and I decided to run up to McGowan’s for just a few hours. We had beer and bacon flights (yes, that’s right. I said Bacon Flight.)
It was definitely good, I can tell you that!
Saturday we did yard work and cleaning in the house, then errands. We also watched Batman Begins with the kids while it stormed. We had a crazy torrential downpour both days this weekend, resulting in a lot of flooding in the yard and downed limbs. So annoying!
It was a very relaxing yet productive weekend so, no complaints!

And this one is from 3 Ninjas Kick Back, a cheesy 90s movie. My daughter discovered this series in our movie collection and cannot seem to stop watching them. LOL. Kind of cracks me up.

I don’t think Hollywood is capable of making movies aren’t riddled with plot holes and inconsistencies anymore. They don’t even have good music like “3 Ninjas Fight Back,” either. I liked that song, by the way.

We haven’t seen any good new movies in years, either. They are spotty at best and even the ones I thought would be good often disappoint me. DH mentioned that The Equalizer 2 was getting excellent reviews. The first flick was good which actually surprised us both. Denzel Washington gets paired up with some real stinkers! I totally agree with about today’s movies not even having good mewsic. I like the smell of bacon, I even like the taste of it but I won’t eat it because of high-fat content unless I get turkey bacon. This doesn’t happen often, either. It seems as a society has a real bacon fixation. Just about everything you can think of has bacon added. Bacon Flights I imagine is an alcoholic drink, correct? If so, then I wouldn’t like it. I never got into drinking alcoholic beverages. The taste never suited me and now I’m really glad that it didn’t because that’s one thing less I have to worry about. I get enough high calories from my favorite fixation – ice cream! lol Thanks for sharing the dance floor with me!
No, actually, it’s just bacon! They just put it in flight glasses for fun.
Bacon flights?? Now that’s a new one to me! I wish I would’ve thought about that back when I owned my bar. Knowing the crew of regulars that I had in that place, it totally would’ve gone over BIG!! I don’t think I’ve ever paired beer and bacon, just plain bacon. Sure I’ve had burgers and beer with bacon on the burger but just bacon? I guess that would make a good pairing…Austin is a funky town with a ton of bars so surely I can sniff out one that offers beer & bacon flights. 🙂
Your second song, from the 3 Ninjas Kick Back movie, is actually good. At first I didn’t think I was going to like it but the more I listened, the more it started to grow on me.
And now I’m on my second time listening to the Scorpions’ “The Zoo” in my headphones and they sound fabulous! I haven’t heard this song in quite a while so this is a real treat…

yeah I hadn’t heard of serving just pieces of bacon but for 5 bucks, it was a nice little snack to go along with the beer. It’s a good idea! Glad you enjoyed the songs.
I had to google ‘Bacon Flights’ – it’s apparently a new thing with different flavorings/seasonings on the bacon…very interesting concept! Of course now I’m gonna have to make some of my own. 😉
