MMMM + Why, Monday, why?

Y’all… I am not feeling this here Monday. Not one bit. I woke up sore in my back and hips from swimming laps yesterday, then I realized I needed gas and was running late. Then I spilled about a quarter of my coffee just leaving the Dunkin’. Le sigh. Some days are just like that I guess.

Overall though, nice weekend. We got up Saturday and had bacon and eggs, then we worked on the pool. Wait, no. I worked in Isaac’s room to get toys and whatnot organized. I did a good job, if I do say so myself. We went to lunch and THEN worked on the pool. It definitely warmed up; due in part to the blanket and also, the warmer temps. We swam a while and then I had to take my oldest to a party. But I came back and swam laps. Man, those’ll get your heart rate up, that’s for sure. I can’t decide if I want to start doing laps in the mornings before work or immediately after. Before probably makes more sense.

Anywho, we had sandwiches for dinner while watching Coogan’s Bluff – man I love Clint Eastwood movies – and then I picked up my son.

Sunday we installed a towel rack in our bathroom and then I went with Ash up to El Jalisco. He was meeting folks to watch Real Madrid v. Barcelona; I went for the food. Then I came home to work on laundry and sit by the pool a bit. I have to say, we live better weekends in this new house. Not that they weren’t nice before, but we are afforded more somehow in the new one.

  1. I’m not a 100% sure but I think this is the first time I’ve come across your first name CLAIRE! 🙂 Oh boy, am I ever glad, too! I always feel lost when leaving a comment like …I wasn’t personally connecting. I’m weird I know but having a name to address someone other than a blog name or handle makes me feel better.

Thanks for sharing the dance floor with the 4M gang, I enjoyed your playlist all of which are mostly new-to-me. Have a tunetastic week!

  2. That’s great that you have a pool to swim laps in and have the discipline to swim in it. I think most people who have pools want to swim laps, but never get around to doing it.

Is that Jeff Hardy singing or is that his intro? I know of him because my husband likes wrestling, but I don’t know what his intro sounds like.

I didn’t know people were putting clips to all their videos for the music blog hop. This is my first participation. I’m still figuring out how to put the videos in the post. I had a problem, but was able to get one video pasted on my blog. I’m not sure I can get another one on there, but I should go back and try. lol

  3. Claire! All this time and I didn’t know your name! I always look for folks names on their About page or the Bio section but I never found yours so it’s very cool to now know you as Claire! Beautiful name btw.
How awesome that you have a pool. I so wish I had one here! It’s so stinkin’ hot in Texas and I would LIVE in my pool if I had one. Our subdivision has two pools that I have access to, but it’s not the same as having your own. Glad you are enjoying the new house! What state are you guys in? I don’t think I know that but you’re somewhere south since you’re swimming already. (I’m originally from Buffalo NY and they don’t start getting their pools ready until Memorial Day weekend…and sometimes it’s still too cold at that time to open the pools. It’s a short outdoor swimming season up there. Down here in Austin, I see folks using the pools as early as February!

It’s good to be back to the 4M Mondays! I’ve missed you all. Great theme to come back to too! This one was super fun.
I liked your song choices. I wasn’t familiar with any of them, except Alice Cooper’s, so that was cool. John, our Honorary Conductor today, shared some interesting facts about Alice Cooper with me not too long ago: he was very good friends with Glen Campbell, which is certainly an unexpected friendship. John sent me an interview that Alice did after Glen passed. It was heartwarming to learn how much those two had in common and how close their families are.

I was surprised that I didn’t know the Fleetwood Mac song: I thought I knew all of their songs. 🙂 Haven’t heard any Culture Club in a long time! I do see Boy George occasionally on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Do you watch that show?

Thanks for the introduction to these songs Claire.
Enjoy the rest of your week,

    1. Hey! I’m in North Florida (so, completely unlike a lot of the rest of the state) so it has gotten warm here – definitely warm enough to swim.
I have a friend in Austin and she has the same thing: pool in her neighborhood but not in her own yard. She says the community one is nice though.
I do not watch Real Housewives but I find it amusing that Boy George is on there; lol. Thanks for stopping by!

  4. It was a long time before I revealed my name on my blog – mainly, other bloggers did it for me, but I really don’t mind. I’m glad to know you, Claire, and am wowed by a post that really ran the gamut from Boy George to Alice Cooper. And Volbeat in the middle! Too bad no “T” in Claire, or I could have listened to Tusk, too. Or maybe not. Thank you for the share!
