Well, so begins five days of being the only parent; Ash is at a programming conference. Every now and then I wish my job required travel – but not really. Maybe just once a year it’d be nice to get away for a couple days. You know, soak in a nice tub, sleep in a bed I don’t have to make, and eat a breakfast that I didn’t have to prepare.
I let the boys walk from about half a mile from their school this morning in hopes that this camaraderie will lead to their relationship getting better. Meanwhile, I stress the whole time, even though they understand walking on a sidewalk, crossing with a crossing guard, etc. And Elliot has a way to text me when he gets there. But I still worry.
We had a nice three day weekend: brewing, hibachi, Sonny’s, Thor (holy crap, expect more pics from that movie; Hemsworth obsession renewed.) Now that my sinus issue is on the mend, I feel a little more aware of my life; I didn’t forget anything this morning and I am ready to work. It’s kind of a miracle!
Ok, today’s theme is “One hit wonders when I was in high-school”.
Let me start with ’94 and we’ll go on from there until ’97.
I really hated this song but it was indeed a one hit wonder.
This next song was damn catchy and one of the first CDs I bought for my Sony Discman.
The guys from this next band lived in a neighborhood not five minutes from my house. One of my sister’s friends ended up dating one of them.
This final song was always a little gritty and on the edge. I loved it because she is subverting the male/female roles.
It was right around ’94 when I stopped listening to pop radio, so none of these were familiar, but they did remind me why I stopped listening to pop radio…
Seriously, though, this was a good set, just not my cup of mud.
Pretty sure that’s why they were one hit wonders!
This made me think of the times my girls walked to school, I would walk behind them for “exercise” but really just to make sure they got there ok without fighting and such
YOU HAVE ROCKED THE HOUSE! Man, everyone really got into the theme today! awesome. Sorry I’m so late had a really busy day! Thanks for joinin’ us! Big hugs…
7 Mary 3 was fun!
