The last week of summer classes here so I am tying up loose ends and breaking into my day; trying to get with the program. I will say, my body is feeling pretty good. I’m seeing the chiro about twice a week and doing exercises at home. I also ran yesterday for the first time in a few months. I had been dealing with the pain and then the heat was a detractor. Getting better!
We had a pretty nice weekend. Elliot played with a neighborhood friend a lot so he was out of the house. I got a lot of cleaning done and we bought a new lawn mower. Yay! We have had our old push mower since 2005 and it does still work but with my back issue and Ash’s lack of desire to bust his butt doing the lawn, it was time for a self-propelled. I haven’t used it yet but Ash said it was the most enjoyable experience he’s ever had mowing the lawn, especially considering it’s summer in Florida!
Speaking of, it was actually a little cool this morning! I just read something that said our winter should be more mild than normal but if the cool mornings already are any indication then I don’t believe that at all.
This week’s theme is songs that start with the first letter of your name. Since mine is C, I just went to my ipod and picked some.
I recently added almost the entire Jimmy Buffett songbook to my device and here’s one I just really love the sound of. Slow, sure, but it’s relaxing and has a very calming vibe to it.
Next is a great slower power ballad from the legendary guitarist, Yngwie Malmsteen.
Rounding out these “C” hits is a super catchy ZZ Top song, Cheap Sunglasses. As soon as my credit cards turns over for the month, I am picking up a couple tickets to see them in November. I asked my dad to go with me because really, he’s why I even like music and rock in particular.
