- Foot pain update: not a bone issue for sure. I was feeling pretty sub-par in the afternoon so I went home and took a hot bath. Something shifted in my foot and it loosened up. Now, it doesn’t hurt as much but the tendon in there feels like when you stretch a rubber band real tight. You know that feeling of resistance as you slowly let it go? That’s what my foot is doing. It’s a gross feeling; the equivalent of nails on a chalk board for me but hey, it feels better and I’m on the road to recovery.
- Our host, Stacy, posted photos of snow and I was suddenly shocked into remembering that it’s actually still winter. Not here! In fact, we’re going to be high 40s/low 70s aaalll week.
- Nothing particularly awful happened with my parents this week but I realize it’s time to back off again. Sometimes when I share too much of our day to day, my mom thinks she can have an opinion on it and it gets a little irritating. I know she has been a parent for much longer but I’d appreciate it if she’d let me be my own person.
Random! Every now and then I like to give you a chance to just untangle your thoughts. Dessert recipes also acceptable. Encouraged.
Though I fell asleep watching wrestling last night, journal open to a page but waiting, blank, I wanted to write about some of the most random things that I’ve been thinking about lately.
Do you ever listen to a song over and over because the feel of it evokes something so intangible inside you that you have to hear it? The song I played yesterday for MMMM, Nights in Estoril by Fleetwood Mac, is just that. It makes me think of exotic vacations, forgetting about the day to day grind, and something so other worldly… I’m just happy when I hear it.
It reminded me of Endless Summer Nights by Richard Marx too. And then my train of thought goes to open windows in a bungalow on the beach; the sound of rolling waves, the pace and quiet of it all. I cannot wait for beach weather.
Some other random images flashing through my brain: I miss Borders. I need to go to Target because I haven’t had any retail therapy in a while; same goes for the mall. I hardly ever walk out of that place with anything but I love going anyway.
And that’s about it. I have a lot of work to do so I guess I’ll stop procrastinating and get on with it.

With how cold it is here right now, it’s hard to imagine the temps being in the high 40’s low 70’s all week long – it’ll get here soon enough, and I’ll be a happy camper then, too! 😉
Ohhhhh YES! There are some songs that definitely do that to me – and I’ll hit replay a million times when that happens. 🙂

Lately it’s A Beautiful World by Aiden Hawken that’s in my head – it’s just so pretty.
And I could use some retail therapy myself. I used to love to just browse through stores and I have rather lost that feeling over the past couple of years. But it’s nice to wander and see nice things.
