I have to tell you: I am so happy that I am going to work an entire week and my boys are at camp. The last – what? – three weeks have been insanely crazy and just not my normal schedule. Actually, ever since June 11th nothing has been normal. Anyway, I am back to the regular grind and happy as heck.
SO, the plan this weekend was to buckle down on Dakota’s potty training. She’s been doing well but not 100%. She has to be mostly trained by August 15th in order to move up to the next class, so that was priority one. Other than that, we mostly just got stuff done. Ash took a half day Friday and in the AM, I took the boys to play mini golf and mess around at the arcade. We met Ash for Mexican and then didn’t do too much in the afternoon. I picked up a new keg for the kegerator – Fat Tire this time – and that’s pretty much all we did.
Saturday was reserved for cleaning. We took it slow. Elliot and his friend hung out in the afternoon. They got the idea in their heads that they should make some weird drink concoction and try to sell it. No lemonade for these boys; they wanted to be different. BUT, they made about 8 bucks so I commend them.
Sunday was the same: vacuuming, laundry, running. My Saturday run was AWFUL but Sunday’s was just fine. I was a little worried when 2 miles was so difficult on Saturday. Thankfully I am not too bad off after all. We basically did nothing all day, besides errands and eating. It was very restorative! I drank some beer and did work and mowed the back yard. So yeah, not the most eventful weekend but if you’ve been reading lately, we needed a slow weekend.
OK I love me a freebie week. I’m going to open your eyes to the glory that is Blackie Lawless and W.A.S.P. I adore this song. I also love how deliciously tall he is. 6’4”!! (There’s nothing in this video that is offensive but if you remember the PMRC hearings in the 80s, most of their library was banned. Love you, Tipper Gore! 😉 )
Let’s switch gears to Judas Priest. This song exemplifies some of their earlier stuff and it’s such a cheesy video! I miss the 80s.
Whew, just reading all you accomplished over the weekend tired me out! I think I need to take a Cathy nap to get my energy back. 🙂 It’s good to see you on the dance floor with the 4M crew today. You featured artists and music I know little about, which is a nice change. I love the big hair of the 80s! I wonder if the dudes from WASP still have hair. It’s always fun to see what these old rocker look like today. lol Have a tunetastic week!

My brother and mum are trying to toilet train Landon he is 3 nearly 4 he knows when he wants to go but choses not to use the toilet at all that is until yesterday mum had him in undies all day and was taking him to the toilet every half hour or so and he went all day without wetting his undies they are getting really frustrated with him, I can relate as Leo was like that and then one day he decided he wanted to use the toilet and hasn’t looked back
My middle kid was like that: at 3 he said no more diapers and he never had an accident. She just forgets but does well, for the most part.
You had quite the weekend! I love your choices of music today. Thanks for sharing.
Princess Nagger was slow on the uptake for potty training – I’ve heard that smarty pants kids are a bit slower, so obviously Dakota is one, too. 😉 So what was the concoction the boys came up with instead of lemonade? I love they made 8 bucks with it! 🙂
Great song choices – thanks for the dance! 🙂
gonna Sing Sing outta my Misery Without A Fight wearing Lipstick – but Enough About Me!
They took Capri Suns, added sugar AND melted popsicles. I am thinking it was gross.
It’s sometimes good to have a slow weekend, but yours still doesn’t sound slow 🙂
Thanks for rocking the tunes.
Aloha!
