Over at Jill’s World, she did a 20 questions thing and since I’m puttering around the office just waiting until school begins so I can sojourn back to give Elliot his lunchbox that he left in the car, I’ll do this. (That was a really long sentence!)
1. Favorite food:
If I had to pick a type of food I love the most, I’ll say Mexican. I love a good quesadilla, chips and salsa, guacamole! It’s pretty much my God food.
If I had to pick one item I love most I’d go with cheese. I’ll eat any cheese any time of the day. Oh yeah.
2. Flip flops or high heels:
Flip-flops, any day, any time of the year. For maybe 3 months (January to March) I do wear Merrells with fuzzy insides but I’m a Reef girl through and through.
3. Favorite places to shop for yourself:
Hard to say. Sometimes I take a stab at Khols or Bealls but I usually pick up stuff here and there at Old Navy or Macy’s. Sometimes Penny’s has good tops.
4. Standard Coffee order:
If I’m at Starbucks or Dunkin, Lite (skinny) latte with vanilla syrup. Unless it’s Fall and yes, I do the basic white girl Pumpkin Spice latte.
5. Road trip must have snack:
The last time we took a long trip, I actually brought supplies to make peanut butter sandwiches and we had lots of Goldfish and other cracker type foods; some granola bars, etc. Mostly, I have to have some water.
6. DIY or hire it out?
It really depends on the job. We’ve done most of the little things on our own but the big stuff like roof, A/C, etc have all be contracted, of course.
7. Top 5 TV shows:
Of all time? Of ALL time?? OK, here goes – in NO order: Friends, ER, Sherlock, Game of Thrones, My So-Called Life.
8. Favorite Book:
Catcher in the Rye has been a life-long favorite and I’ve read it again and again. But so too have I read both books by Bailey White. Those stick with me because they’re Southern in nature and she speaks to me. She really does.
9. Favorite Form of Exercising:
I don’t know who I’m kidding when I say I hate running because I don’t. I hate thinking about it and then putting on all the gear and I hate that moment I step outside and realize how awful it will be. But once I’m out there and getting it done, I love it. Absolutely.
10. How tall are you?
5ā1″. Funny, I thought I was only five foot for the longest and then when I got measured once, I realized I’d been wrong!
11. Do you try something new at restaurants or stick to your favorites?
You know, I always used to pride myself on picking new stuff because my husband almost always orders the same thing. But I realize that the few places we eat, I do get the same thing. La Fiesta – the 17, Mexican Chicken; Cracker Barrel – Chicken and dumplings; Sonny’s – the sliced brisket; Momo’s slice of cheese with spinach.
12. One make up item you can’t live without:
LOL you assume I wear makeup! OK, so sometimes I do and my sister turned me onto this brand you can buy at Target called ELF and it’s like a pre-foundation bronzer thing that fills in creases. I thought foundation made me look good; this stuff makes you look even better!
13. What’s on your nightstand?
A bunch of junk. LOL. Probably the following: an old cup of water, earbuds, Lush cuticle cream, nail file, anti-itch cream, Kindle, nail clippers, three half-finished bottles of lotion, my lamp, a coupon for Bed, Bath, and Beyond, a Jack Skellington bobblehead, a tin of colored pencils, and the mangled claw hand thing from an Azog toy (The Hobbit.)
14. What’s one thing motherhood has taught you?
That I know more than I thought, yet less than I ever imagined.
15. Music that reminds you of high school:
Ha ha, this is amusing. I went through a phase of really liking old stuff so, The Doors, Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan. Then I was also really big into Counting Crows but still fresh out of the grunge era, so I was still into Pearl jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains. I had also begun to discover punk and ska so I loved Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Pennywise, Helmet and then I merged into other hard rock like Tool and Pantera. Shit, I just listened to a LOT of music back then.
16. If you could live anywhere in the world besides your current city where would you live?
Hawaii! In some little place right on the beach and I’d roll out of bed and make coffee and just sit in the sand.
17. Tell us something about you we might not know:
Hmm, should I?? No, not today. š š
18. Websites you read/browse (besides blogs):
Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Tallahasse.com
19. Morning person or Night owl?
Hands down morning person. There’s a brief moment when i don’t want to get up but that doesn’t last long then I’m up and running. I love morning! I love how wonderfully new the day is and it’s sometimes cool and cit feels clean and full of opportunity.
20. Favorite Breakfast meal:
Basically, any variation of the Uncle Herschel’s Favorite from Cracker Barrel:
OR
Eggs Benedict (like Cumberbatch; LOL) with spinach or asparagus:
Well, now I’m craving Mexican food… mmm… I could go for some fajitas or quesadillas…chips and guac… yum. And I’m also a BIG fan of cheese, I probably would pick it as my #1 all-time favourite food too. Glad you played along, I enjoy reading other’s answers š
