No, really. The weekend was weird. Everyone seemed tired and on and off angry and happy. I know I personally dealt with more allergy issues and when I get too bogged down by something of that sort, I just want to tune out. Each night that I fell asleep on the couch at, oh, 9 PM, it was the best sleep.
But anyway, the weather was cold and gray for Elliot’s last soccer game. The plan was to play on the playground after and eat snacks but we ended up doing that under this covered area and then cutting out early, because it was too cold and windy. But it was nice; they got ribbons and we gave the coach a little plaque. Ash had met us at the game because he ran 12 miles in the morning. So he took Isaac home, then Ell and I followed and then decided to go to Cracker Barrel. I ended up having breakfast and I had forgotten how much I love their breakfast. I almost always get the chicken and dumplings. Everyone took a nap in the afternoon, though mine didn’t last that long. I ended up heading to Target to get towels that were on sale. The evening was odd because Ash was actually supposed to run 24 that day so we was splitting it up into two 12s. I got the kids ready for bed and then left that task to him. Once they were asleep, we sat on the couch and watched the Planet of the Apes marathon on AMC. Man, those movies really are not that good.
Sunday was also weird because it was a.) freezing an b.) I didn’t want to just sit around but had no impetus to do otherwise. I mustered the will to hit the grocery store and then, as I was getting the kids out, totally locked my keys in the car. Luckily, Ash hadn’t left for his run so he brought the key to me (Publix is about one mile from our house.) But all day was like that for me: I dropped stuff, forgot names, lost things I JUST had… so annoying! And when schedules get off, things seem even weirder. Isaac’s school is closed for teacher planning today so Ash is home with him. I dropped Elliot off but since it’s so cold, kids were waiting inside, which seemed to throw him off. Hope he got there ok!!
I like freebie weeks but then, I get so lost; what will I choooose??
You know me; I mostly listen to country but sometimes I like to go old school ad listen to what I heard growing up. Here are some songs my mom always played.
