WWTK Wednesday – Deep Indulgence

Hosted by the above and Queso and Crazymama.

This week Crazymama wants to know how you pamper yourself…

{1} What is your go to color if you paint your nails? do your toes and fingernails match?

For as long as I have been getting pedicures (maybe only 5-6 years now) I have really loved Opi’s “Don’t Melbourne the Toast”. (Below). But they have another similar color called “Dusk Over Cairo” that I sometimes get. I don’t typically paint my fingers, only my toes. Paint will be off my fingers within a day. Even before kids it wouldn’t matter because I rock climbed too much to bother with my fingers.

{2} Have you ever gone for a mani/pedi? how often do you go?

As mentioned before, yes! I have had maybe a handful of manis – they don’t last – but I used to get pedis every month or so. I am on a 2-3 month schedule now. I go to a place right up the road and usually get the same girl. She started giving me pedicures when I was pregnant with my first kid so we have a history together. 🙂 (There’s a shot of my place, from my POV)
{3} Do you color your hair? do you have a salon do it or do you do it yourself?

I colored my hair exactly twice: when I was 20 and 22 respectively. The first time, I tried to dye it blue and it came out a just a tint because my hair is dark. The second time, I bleached it then went for an auburn color. If I were at home, I’d have the pic to get for you. It looked… unnatural at best.

{4} Facials…have you ever had one?

Yes, once. Ash got me an entire spa day when my oldest was about 6 months. It was nice but not really worth the time or money. I felt uncomfortable having someone stroke my face and I didn’t feel much better after.
{5} Would you or have you ever done botox?

Negative. It kind of weirds me out. But I don’t judge anyone who does want it.

{6} Beauty knows no pain, do you believe in waxing, electrolisis, eyelash extentions, anti-aging creams, micro-dermabrasion, peels, botox?

It’s not that I don’t “believe” in them but I don’t care enough about my looks/vanity to get them. However, I have always wanted to try waxing. Just once. I have done my eyebrows so I know what kind of pain I am in for but the bikini area is – I am sure – WAY more sensitive!

  1. I’m not really brave enough to commit to permanently coloring my hair, but I have had fun with the ones that wash out.
I wax my legs with the pre-waxed strips and it’s not that bad. I haven’t tried the bikini area though.

  2. ohhh good answers. i totally agree with you on getting fingernails painted. my manicure isn’t lasting and it’s killing me.

i have to confess i’ve never had a real massage. re: your comment on my blog. thus no question. i don’t know the wonder and i might have issues with having a stranger rub
me all over. i’m not saying i never would i just haven’t.

    thanks for linking up.

  3. I only was my eyebrows, and that’s painful enough…I don’t need to know what that feels like in the bikini region!

Love that shade of polish…I love the names of the OPI polish, I’ve invested in a few myself!

  4. A while back, I got one of those new gel manicures, and it really did last two weeks, which was kind of a miracle. I have a friend who is an esthetician, and I’ve been going to her for facials for years, but she has suddenly quit the business, and now I don’t know what to do. It is nicer having a friend stroking your face than a stranger!

  5. oh yes the bikini area is sensitive but it is soooo worth it. a few minutes of real discomfort and it is over. i also really love that polish color.

thanks so much for linking up, i really enjoyed your answers!!
