- Since having been sick, I have tried a lot of meds, to no avail. The Aleve-D Cold and Sinus is great for allowing me to get stuff done but it seems to be hampering my ability to heal.
- I went on this Earth Clinic site – upon which I stumbled while Googling sinus infection cures – and decided to go the homeopathic route. I am on cup #2 of apple cider vinegar. People on the site recommended all sorts of variations. The main formula is 8 oz. hot water, 2 tbsp of ACV and 1 tbsp of honey. First cup I made it in green tea to mask the ACV taste. It did, to an extent. I filled a coffee mug and drank half; it might have been 6-7 ounces only.
- Cup #2 I used exactly 8 ounces, made it with Constant Comment and it was way tangier. I put one or two drops of lemon extract and managed to drink it all.
- So far, I am feeling better. Face pressure is easing up and my nose is a lot clearer. Most people said a couple days got them over it, even when antibiotics had failed. I’m normally the first to go running for those but to be honest, I want to avoid them. They wreck your immune system and – without fail – I always get a yeast infection.
- That was way TMI but hey, you understand.
- That was all written Monday afternoon and now, Tuesday morning, I am feeling much better, though I attribute some of that to laying in bed ALL NIGHT. We got home around 5:30, made dinner, and by 7:30, we were in my bed watching a movie and I drifted in and out of consciousness until 11 when I just went to sleep.
- I feel much better today, though still have to blow my nose a gazillion times. And I will most likely go through another couple cups of the ACV mixture. Seriously folks, this stuff works!
- On a completely different note, I gave a homeless vet a dollar today. I don’t know why but he seemed less scummy than some of the beggars in this city.
- Oh, hey, did you know it’s Valentine’s Day? Yes, another Hallmark holiday. I don’t much care for it/about it but I did make little bags of junk for the kids’ classmates and have a little thing planned for the hubs.
- I’m slowly piecing my life back together; it’s rough when you don’t feel like yourself for weeks at a time. I’ve been drifting, trying to make sure I get everything done but always thinking I have surely forgotten something. My brain is cloudy.
- Well, I have a ton of things to do and I am sure you want to move onto other blogs. Happy Tuesday!
Man Candy is Cyril Giustiniani. Don’t know much about him but he’ll do for today. Happy Valentine’s Day 😉

Apple cider vingar has other health benefits to it. Years back I would drink to help boost my metabolism. It is pretty harsh stuff to drink, even with sweetner. I may try drinking it in tea to see if this improves things. I need to get back to drinking the ACV because it’s also good for intestines. Thanks for the reminder!
Next time I have a cold/sinus thing I’ll give ACV a shot. I like the taste of vinegar so it shouldn’t be too bad.
I keep reading that apple cider vinegar is good for lots of things. I was actually taking it straight (1 TBSP) for a while to help with my polycystic cysts but it was too nasty! I couldn’t do it and I sure as hell didn’t want it in my water. *shivers* I’m glad you’re feeling better!
And yeah, yeast infections blow. I hate taking an antibiotic too.
NIce man candy!! Thanks for linking up again! xoxo
I need to pick up ACV – I’ll be trying your remedy when I do, this sinus infection sucks pond water. 🙂
Happy Valentine’s Day – and thanks for the Man Candy. 😉
