To kick off your Friday, read this article and you too can be disappointed in America. What’s wrong with America is what a lot of people have been saying for years: if you ban something – take it away and make it “naughty” – then people are more likely to overindulge or take it to an extreme. Somehow Europe doesn’t have this problem.
Anyway, happy Friday to everyone and happy last day of the semester to those of you here at FSU. (Not counting finals week). I’m glad to be done with this semester but I do still have to calculate grades. Now also begins the rapid fire email reminders about getting grades in on time. These guys get fined obscene amounts of money if they don’t enter grades in time. Something like 25 bucks per student per day late. Imagine if one whole class was late: that’s 625 dollars right there. As grunts for the school, we don’t have that kind of money lying around!
And now, for a (boring) list of things I need to do today:
- Clean keyboard tray of all debris
- File papers that have piled up on desk
- send final reminder about Fall preference forms
- store plagiarism exercises in closet
- Make a list of more things to do!
Our semester here at UF doesn’t end until Wednesday. And I still have so much work to do.
It’s weird to end on a Wednesday
