Back to work, you!

Yes, I am actually at work today. Well, I went in yesterday for all of an hour and a half. After I found out (I pretty much knew anyway) that I indeed had dry socket, I went ahead and said no work. I went to the grocery store in the hopes of getting some nice hot mashed potatoes, but alas, they had not made them for their lunch buffet. Oh well. I ended up having a sandwich instead. I baked a pumpkin-pineapple loaf (recipe if you want it) and basically just resting. The medicated gauze for the dry socket pretty much clears up the pain but you still don’t feel really good.

I had to go back this morning to have the dressing changed but I can’t miss anymore work. Not that there’s a lot for me to do… so far I have tied up a few loose ends and that’s it.

On a side note: the low on Saturday is 43, the high only 74. I think Saturday is Pumpkin Patch day!

And on a different note entirely … my one year anniversary is this coming Sunday. Ash and I have known each other since late 1999 and I cannot believe it’s already been a year married. How time does fly. Since I already gave him his present long ago (the Jaguars tix) I am trying to come up with a surprise besides the hand-made card. On his end, I kind of found out what he got me because the place thst shipped it (art.com) didn’t package it very well and “it” came with a big hole in it. So it had to be returned and reshipped. It’s probably a painting but of what, I do not know. He keeps saying that he hopes I like it but honestly, he has never gotten me anything I did not like.

The first Christmas that we spent together he got me a vaccuum, that I still use to this day. I love to clean so you know this was a great gift. The following year, I got a Tempur-pedic pillow. Each year he gets me one big present and a few smaller ones. Two years ago I got a Canon photo printer. Last year I got a new desk chair. He’s damn good at getting gifts that a.) I will love and b.) would never see coming but are perfect nevertheless.

He expressed his worry over me not liking it while I boiled some pasta. I told him that of course I would but the question is, can he keep it up for a lifetime? His reply, with a smile: “I made a promise that I would.”

It’s going to be a good day, everyone. Enjoy it.

  1. The high here on Saturday? 79. With a low of 53. Every other day for the next seven days has a high of 81 or higher. Good, Lord, when will fall come to Gainesville?

  2. Hey, it could be worse; it could be highs in the 90s. Just wait until January when you’re little fingers are freezing as you walk across campus. Oh wait, maybe that’s me… in Tallahasse…
