Hello Monday – Sigh

I woke a bit early after a weird dream. I can’t remember the first part but it ended being at a concert and the lead singer (who was the guy from the band Motionless in White) was going around talking to fans and looking at all their band related tattoos, right there during the show. I turned to whoever I was with and said how the next time I attended, both the show and tattoos would cost more. So weird!

Anyway, I wrote Friday how we were brewing and I was getting stuff done in between. Brew process went pretty smoothly then we went and grabbed some Mexican food. It had been a while since we went to our favorite location and it did not disappoint. Then it was time to relax! We watched a couple older movies (Sleeping with the Enemy and The Secret of My Success). Somewhere in there my kids came home then went back out to various things. It was overall a nice day.

Since I didn’t have to chaperone the dance until much later I spent a lot of time Saturday doing various things around the house: putting clean things away, vacuuming, etc. I returned a shirt and went to the grocery store; made fajita chicken. The background viewing was, of course, soccer. We had time to kill in the afternoon so we put on a movie but didn’t watch all of it because we found a nail in my son’s tire and decided to take it up to get fixed. I was surprised that they finished before they closed at 5; we had made plans to pick it up Monday.

Anyway, we packed up two of our kegs and all related materials and I drove and helped Ash set up for a party that we’d been invited all the way back in July! We had gone to a baby shower and these people apparently always have a neighbors only beer-centric party in the Fall. Well, once we met them and they found out we brew beer, we got invited. They swore we didn’t need to bring any but we said we would. I hung around a little while then went to the dance.

That was fine. I manned the doors to the gym, letting kids in and not letting any out. It was definitely too loud for my liking, which is funny because I will totally turn MY music up loud in the car! Anyway, after that, I drove back to the party so we could load up all the equipment and head home. Very long evening!

I slept in until maybe 7 but I didn’t feel very rested, sadly. But I did enjoy my Sunday morning quiet time. I watched some YouTube and wrote a little. I did a short run and blew off the driveway and back porch before starting laundry. I felt annoyed by my children but not really sure why. The boys were actually in good moods and hung around for a lot of the football games. I made Ash a pizza for lunch, which I hadn’t done in a while. My Publix has dough you can purchase and even though pizza isn’t the healthiest, I feel better when I make it myself. We all ate something different at lunch – leftovers or sandwiches – then just watched football. I really am starting to be terribly covetous of my weekend relaxing. I love plans but I also like being home!

We made a plan NOT to have Halloween plans but our friend Tim invited us to his place, like we did last year, and we agreed. So, our house is on a fairly well traveled road and it sits kind of far back from said road. When we moved here eight years ago, we didn’t realize that would mean we really don’t get trick or treaters. Well our friend’s neighborhood does – quite a few! Funny enough, he lives about two or so blocks from where we went for that Saturday party. Anyway, we will sit in his driveway with a fire pit and hand out candy and that should be fun. We otherwise have zero plans this week and I’m here for it!

  1. We have a couple of fun things this weekend, but close to home which I like. I haven’t seen Sleeping With The Enemy in a long time, but that movie makes me so tense, even though I know how it ends lol. Enjoy your week!
