- You know, getting all the rain we should have had over the summer, now, all at once, is not my preferred method. It’s been ugly for days and I’m sick of the wet roads and accidents, as well as letting water out of my pool every day. Plus now, there’s a “disturbance” in the gulf. To be fair, the wind shear from El Nino is still out there so hopefully it either breaks apart or trends west. I can’t take this stress.
- A coworker of mine said something casually last week that really stuck with me. In essence, she said she hasn’t felt “well” lately and needs something to look forward to. Damn, that resonates with me. I like my life, I do. I like my job and my family is in a good place. But I feel that thing that says, “need something to excite me”. I think that’s why I covet my weekends so much. That’s MY time to do the stuff I like; old horror movies, cheesy 80s movies, a little video gaming while listening to music.
- On that note, I was going to take a bath last night but opted to make a cup of tea and then we started watching a movie called Solider of Orange, which was really good, actually, but we had to stop it when a friend came by to drop something off, then again when my middle boy wanted to watch the Monday night game. I didn’t care about it because I had already lost in both fantasy leagues. Le sigh.
- It isn’t really cold enough for a bath, per se, but I have been cold the last two days. Wondering if it’s just mental due to the gloom outside. Or probably less carbs and a freezing AC in my classroom. I was super cold when we went to bed too and then, all of a sudden, we lost power. (So then, I figured we’d get warm.) Ash was super worried it would be out for hours, given that they tried 3 times. Do you know that thing? If your power surges 1-3 times, it means they’re trying to jolt off something sitting on a line. If it happens 3 and stays off, you’re probably in for it.
- Luckily, it was only off for maybe 10 minutes. Ash swears we’re the only places that loses power from time to time (like, maybe 5 times a year) but I am sure once you live somewhere long enough, you start to see issues. We can’t be the only place like that!
- He’s really stressed at work right now so the power turning off just as we were trying to sleep was not a help!
- Fall is always like this, in my opinion: busy, tumultuous, and shifting. The change of seasons feels more acute to me around this time. I think once Halloween hits, then it all tumbles towards the end of the year and it’s both fun/exciting and terribly rushed. I just need to find a way to slow down!
