- I am subbing first period, which I don’t mind. In fact, I offered to since I am leaving after 5th. The plan had been to go to the doc for this poison ivy but I actually think it is healing. It’s not as itchy and according to the internet, is healing up as it should. I have two rough patches that mean the skin is doing its thing. So long as I am not in the insane itchy phase anymore, I can handle the nasty look of it.
- I am not necessarily “stressed” about work or anything but this weekend can’t come soon enough. We’re well and good into the Fall semester so it feels like one long stretch without a break. But, as noted, the kids have a half day and PSAT testing next Thursday (and hence, we might be able to leave), and then they’re not here the 12th. We have to be here but it’ll be just professional development, whatever that truly means. It’s one of those buzzwords that people like to use to sound better than they are.
- I volunteered to feed Dakota’s youth group on Sunday and think I have decided what to make: I’ll go to Costco and get about 5 rotisseries chickens, shred them, put them in bbq sauce, and crockpot them. Then, with some Hawaiian rolls and potato chips, they’ll have a meal. Should be cost effective and easy!
- I’ll probably have leftovers too, so that’ll be nice. I already texted Ash that I want to go out somewhere tonight. We may even go before the “kill the keg” party, should we decide to go to that. For me it’ll depend on the weather. It’s supposed to started raining and we aren’t slated to have a dry day for at least the next week. If we get as many inches as they’re predicting, I will be dumping water from the pool, and I hate to do that! You lose chemicals that way.
- We met my son’s new girlfriend this week (my middle) and she seems nice. They plan to go to homecoming in a couple weeks, which means I’ll need to reach out to the mom and see what color dress she’ll have so we can coordinate. He probably needs new clothes too; the last time we bought that stuff was a year ago for a wedding and I don’t think those are nice enough for a dance. Plus, I think he’s actually taller than before so he won’t even fit. It is really always something, I tell you. Busy busy!
