Friday five – One week down

  1. Today is the first day this week I didn’t feel rushed. And somehow that includes the days I woke up really early. But on those days I sat with my coffee a little too long. Today, I have fifteen minutes until I need to walk out and even then, that’s playing it safe with traffic.
  2. I believe we broke a record last night for our homebrew club meeting: 29 people and 17 brews! I remember attending in 2018 for their annual best and worst night and having 13. Everyone thought that was a lot! We have definitely grown this club in our years running it.
  3. Wow. My work computer just totally had a fit and I had to restart it. All last year I had zero problems with this thing, which is amusing to me since it’s an Apple and I hate those.
  4. I’m really excited that I almost made it through the first full week of classes. It hasn’t been difficult but as it is a small school, I know a lot of my kids already. Some I did not, like the sophomores, since I don’t teach freshmen and didn’t really know them last year. I mean, I subbed classes with them. And of course I know Robert, whose mom crashed into me back in February. No hard feelings; it was a weird situation.
  5. I am trying not to eat out these days – to save money and poor habits – but the draw to go somewhere on a Friday night is pretty real. It was a long week; an exhausting one. The very last thing I feel like doing is cooking!

  1. I giggled a little at how you know Robert- not that it’s funny at all but it’s kinda funny in a that’s- weird-way-to-know-a-student way!! I’m glad brew club went well and that it’s the weekend! Hope yours is going well…
