1. Do you like your name? Are you named after someone (grandparent, etc)? If you have children how did you choose their names?

Nope and I never have. My dad fancied French names so I got Claire. I personally think it is ugly. Our kids do all have names we picked. My oldest is named after my brother and father in law. My middle has a name we just both liked but his middle name is my Dad’s. Similarly, my daughter has a name we both liked and her middle is my husband’s mom, who died a long time ago.

2.  A piece of red velvet cake, a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a slice of blueberry pie? You can only have one…which will you choose? If you could pick any red, white, or blue dessert other than those listed here, what would you choose? 

I think I’d take the red velvet cake. I don’t eat those sweet things hardly at all anymore but that’s my pick. If I could pick another one in the colors, I’ll go with all three: this dessert.

3. What’s a job you’d like to try for just one day?

I think it would have been cool to go into real estate. So if I did it for a day, I might like it! Now if we mean a job that you’d only ever want to do for one day, I’d say, President!

4. Any patriotic decor in your home currently or coming up this summer?

I typically have a few things I put out for the time from Memorial Day until July 4th – just a couple American flag type things. I feel bad though because I failed to put them out before Monday!

5. It’s the end of May, so let’s exercise our brains. Sum up your month with an acrostic using the word MAY. We can do it!!

Well, I submitted final grades and now I am working on grading stuff from my online classes and alternately, taking junk down in my classroom. If we’re being honest, I could get all this done today and not come in tomorrow, but we are expected to be here. With the admin shuffle going on, no one even knows what our hours are even supposed to be so essentially, the inmates are running the asylum!

Going to a work function for my husband later. It’s a new boss doing a happy hour so it’s important for him. Normally a keto day so I guess we’ll have to break the rules a little. I guess I am not too worried as I got on the scale this morning and I am down 10 pounds. It’s been probably 4 months but hey, there’s a balance.
