- Oooh boy, Friday! I am very very excited about that. After today, one more week. One full day and four half days of testing. I am just ready to be DONE.
- I am really proud of my students; they’ve had a long term project since March and it’s due today. I was terribly nervous that they weren’t working on them but most of them got them in! Granted, I told them I’d be nice and accept them on Monday. But still, they did some good work.
- I keep forgetting then remembering we have a meeting tonight for the homebrew club. Not that I mind; once all matters of business are handled, we do drink beer wherever we’ve chosen to meet. Tonight we are going to a place that we went A LOT back in, oh, 2022. That summer we went because they had a nice cool indoor area and a lot of good beer on tap. They’ve gotten bigger now and subsequently raised their prices. They’re “making their own beer” now; in quotes because they’re taking the easy route and ordering pre-made wort and then boiling and adding hops so, really, only doing half the job. But we try to patronize all local places, if possible.
- It’s been quite the day since I wrote the above. I got a call from my dad letting me know that my mom went to the hospital last night. Apparently she had a seizure. This is not normal for her so it’s a little weird. She passed out then came to, then they decided to go to the hospital. She’s still there for observation so I am hoping and praying it was an isolated incident. I’m not entirely convinced it’s not a reaction to a drug. I’ll report back when I know more but it’s a little stressful.
- That said, I’m heading home after I sub sixth period. I am at the end of what I can – or want – to handle and it being Friday before finals week, I just think I need to be home…having a beer!
Your mom’s health scare sounds just that- scary. I hope she makes a full recovery and it was “just” a reaction to medicine (because then she could stop taking the medication and she wouldn’t have to worry). So glad it’s Friday- your plans tonight sound fun. I’m glad the students’ writing project went well. Have a great weekend!
