- Indeed, I drove to work in a pretty consistent rain; nothing heavy but annoying enough. I stupidly didn’t bring an umbrella either. Luckily I had a reusable grocery bag that’s basically made out of plastic, so my head stayed dry.
- Despite the rain, I feel upbeat, though hungry. We did the Monday not eating again. I was probably done eating by 7 pm Sunday so…do the math. I was hungrier this week than last but I managed to keep busy. We had taken down a deck almost 8 months ago and finally got the rest of the boards to the corner for pickup. Since the claw only comes every other week, we had to take our time inundated them with our refuse!
- Once we were done with all that I was all, “time to sit in my chair!” Except it was only 7:15 so I resigned myself to going to the store. I had some leftover rotisserie chicken from the weekend so I wanted to make chicken salad for today. You can easily make this a keto recipe so that’s what I did. And I can’t wait to eat it!
- This week at work is basically all review for the finals and tying up any loose ends. My 10th graders are still reading as much as they can of 1984 before Summer and my juniors are just reviewing and finishing up watching the Of Mice and Men movie from the 90s. It’s a bit slow but captures Lennie pretty well.
- We recently rewatched The Wiz and you know, it is definitely not as good as I remember from watching it as a kid. In fact, it’s pretty darn hokey. I’m ok with remakes of classic movies but that one – hoo boy. Also, go and look up screenshots of Michael Jackson as the scarecrow and tell me he doens’t have a Reese’s peanut butter cup wrapper on his nose. Go ahead, go do it and report back. I’ll wait…

- Anyway, today is moving right along; the all-class reviewing of material from almost the entire year does help. It keeps me very busy. The school year tumbles along as it gets closer to the end. I recall this even from teaching college. The last few weeks entail a lot.
- I’m literally daydreaming about the first days of being on summer break. I need to rest!
