- It is a real thing you guys: you get back from a concert and everything pales in comparison to that feeling of being immersed in the noise. But I am making it ok. I do have a headache but it’s due to the weather shift. We are in a major drought but we’ve had some storms blow through recently. That change affects me something fierce.
- I finalized grades for Spring term at one of the colleges I teach at, and another just started so there’s not much going on, so it feels like I am in limbo. I am used to being go go go all the time so to have a mere moment to breathe is very weird.
- There’s a luncheon for teachers today to round out teacher appreciation week. I think they did some very nice stuff for us: coffee and muffins, then Panera breakfast, Jimmy Johns sandwiches, special individualized gifts with 25 dollar amazon gift cards, and… they put 27 bottles of wine out for us to choose from. I am not much of a wine drinker but I’ll take free!
- We are headed to brunch tomorrow for Mother’s Day; figure it’ll be slightly less crowded if we don’t go on Sunday. I’m looking forward to it and hopefully my kids are too. We don’t typically make a big deal out of this holiday; just a meal out.
- Because school is on half day schedule today I can’t keep track of anything that’s happening. You know those days? Where you just feel adjacent to real life? Yeah, that’s me. Can’t wait to go to this lunch thing then go home! Anwho, happy early Mother’s Day to, well, the moms, and below, a photo from last night.
