As noted in the sign up post, I decided to highlight beers I have liked. I know this sounds very surface but a lot of my personal life/hobbies revolve around it. We are homebrewers and I have – as of today – 4,582 unique check-ins on the app, Untappd. I keep track of all beers and rate them there. So, without further ado – N!

We weren’t exactly happy with the name of this beer; and we gave them many options. But it was Lake Tribe’s call, after all. Our homebrew club got it in our heads a few years ago to do collaboration brews with local breweries. The first one we picked, Lake Tribe, really did it up right. They brought us in early one Saturday and allowed us a lot of agency over the process. We got to add in the salts, the hops, press buttons, move hoses, and clean out the spent grain from the mash tun. When we were done and it was going to boil, they brought us food and let us get some beer on the house. Very nice people and a cool experience.

When it was finished, they threw it on tap and made a sign to indicate that we had collaborated. Here’s a pic of a group after brewing then, a few weeks later trying the product. It turned out, I daresay, better than most of their typical beer. Which is saying something!
