Hello Monday – I believe I need…an ark

Woe, for it has been nigh on a week since we e’er saw the sun. I am beginning to drown in both water and sorrow, for without sun, I get really cranky!

Anyway, Friday evening, I came home and did a bit of cleaning up and then Ash and I went all the way back across town to attend my faculty Christmas party. I think we had a very nice time. He met some coworkers, they liked him (of course), and the food was good; who can complain about an open bar? Not me! LOL.

Saturday I woke and slowly sipped my coffee, knowing I had a long day ahead. I had to be to work by 9:30 because it was a day for prospective families to come tour the campus. When you work at a small private school, any new additions make a big difference. I had already asked permission to leave early so I bailed at 11:30 and went home to my party, nearly already in progress. Our homebrew club always has a “president’s winter party” and since my husband has been prez for two years, well, we are the host house. I don’t mind; it makes me clean and decorate for our regular party next week.

Anyway, we were also having our in-club stout competition and we had 11 entries! Talk to us a year ago and we would never had as many people entering. We’ve come a long way. In the end, Ash and I took home second place. No complaints!

It was quite the long day and once everyone was gone, I just sat. I probably should have cleaned up a little more but eh, it is what it is.

Sunday I woke and got started on tidying and putting the house back together, as well as going to the store and grading papers. I am still up against a deadline right now – noon for one of my college jobs – so I had to get that done. I am not done yet, sadly!

I made tacos and got laundry going then sat down to watch football. Our friend came over to watch – he hadn’t been in a couple weeks – then that was just about it. Took my daughter and her friends up to church and once they got back, I was pretty much asleep in my chair after 9:30.

Including a couple photos from the weekend’s party. Hoping to have more time soon to blog!

  1. It sounds like you had a great weekend! I didn’t realize you are still teaching online college classes. For some reason, I thought your full-time private school teaching job was it right now. You are busy!!

  2. What a fun weekend! Sounds like the perfect mix of parties and productivity-congrats on 2nd place- not bad at all!

  3. It sounds like a really good weekend. I hope the sun makes an appearance soon. It must be odd to be in Florida and for it to not be sunny. Your weekend sounds busy but good. You got this… winter break will be here before you know it :).

    1. Nah, we get weeks like this from time to time; when the other states get snow, we get rain. Sigh. And yes, it’ll be here soon – I just have to be tough!

  4. I hope the sun shines for you soon! Sounds like a nice weekend with lots of holiday fun. You are busy and keeping up with more than one job sounds like a lot to me. Plus kids, and the house, and all the rest too. Christmas break is coming though! Have a nice week!
