1. What does patriotism mean to you?
To me, it is revering the flag and all it stands for; it means always stopping to say the pledge or sing the National Anthem. It means a sense of pride in the freedoms this country allows and being thankful and aware that we need to protect those rights.
2. September-October-November…your favorite fall month? Tell us why. If you live in the southern hemisphere use these months but sub spring for the word fall.
That’s tough; I typically like October because it blends Autumn decor with spooky but then again, I like November because we get Thanksgiving and then it’ll plunge right into actual holiday season.
3. A song you love with the word thanks (or some form of that word) in the title or lyrics?
I always say this one Bing Crosby song but I honestly don’t hear it often. I’ll link it here so you can. THIS SONG.
4. November is National Peanut Butter Month. Are you a fan? What’s the last peanut butter bite you had? Fill in the blank: peanut butter and _____________________ .
You know, I do like peanut butter but one thing I do not like are peanut butter cookies, oddly enough. The other day I did one of my favorite dessert bites: take a little peanut butter on a spoon then dab on an equal amount of grape jam and you have the perfect post-meal sweetness.
Peanut butter and… bananas on toast with a drizzle of honey.
5. This week’s gratitude question-What event from this past year are you most grateful for?
I think I have to say getting this job, right? It’s kept me BUSY but has provided the money and stability I was looking for. I think it will become increasingly more awesome as I am thankful for: the week of Thanksgiving off, the two weeks of Christmas, and summer!

Going ahead and doing this on Monday because I’ll probably forget. I haven’t seen any of it yet but the AC guys began today and according to my husband, they got the old ductwork ripped out pretty quickly. See, we have two floors and a tie-in to the main unit somewhere below the stairs. They cut it there today so we can go from one 5 ton unit to two 3 ton units, one per floor. This ought to be a lot more efficient and energy saving. We are hopeful they’ll finish by Friday but if not, they can wrap up Monday, which would be great since Ash is going out of town for another conference – the last one of the year, thankfully!
ETA: It’s been in the upper 20s the last two days and while we do still have heat downstairs, they began with the attic and it indeed was very cold. I had on four blankets and slept ok but it’s still a pain.
We were supposed to have a department meeting today but the principal can’t stay today so hopefully that is canceled!

How great to appreciate your job! I was worried about it for you, lol. I love peanut butter cookies- I’ve been thinking of making some. Not having heat in the 20’s. That is rough! I can’t believe how cold it is there in Florida. I honestly didn’t know it got that cold there.
Well, to be honest, where we live is only 20 minutes from Georgia and if you ever study the gulf winds, they create a weird pocket that drops down directly into our region. Plus, we are JUST far enough from the coast that the breeze doesn’t push the cold air away. Tallahassee is weird like that.
BRRR – it would be really cold in our house with no heat at all. We turn it down very low at night so that it doesn’t come on – due to my allergies . . .but then we run into the other room and bump it up as soon as we get up.
Ahh, that song is an oldie but a goody. We had our front door refinished this week and they put plastic up but it was chilly. Hope the new system is all up and running soon. I gave my grandkids their new Christmas pajamas tonite because I wanted a picture for my Christmas card. Seeing them in the pjs definitely got me excited for the holiday!! Have a great day!
Great song about being thankful!! I love that one, and you can’t go wrong with Bing Crosby IMO. Glad you got the job you wanted and are grateful for it. Hope you’re having a great week!
