I started my ‘podge entry and just…never finished. I wanted to talk about 6-7 too! So on that note, it doesn’t MEAN anything, but it’s one of those viral things that became the middle and high school students’ way of participating in the inside joke. It’s honestly no different than when we, as late 90s kids, went around doing the DX chop (from WWE) and saying ‘suck it!’ It’s just youth culture.
Anyway, I have felt very blah about teaching today but I am done so I am sitting outside in the courtyard. It is quiet, save for the crows who call to each other endlessly, and I am grading work from other schools now. Well, it WAS quiet until a teacher brought her class out. Sigh. Oh well; still better than in my room under the fluorescent lights!
I am very ready for Friday. I am giving a quiz in 2 classes and just doing Twain work in 2 others. Then, on the way home, I am meeting my husband at a brewery for a much-needed break! It will be nice to happy hour with my own husband, especially since with this new job, we can’t meet for lunch like we used to.
Yesterday I got home and we did some extensive deck work and the whole thing is *almost* taken apart now. Lots of boards to still be hauled to the street, but it’s essentially disassembled. There’s quite a bit of concrete underneath so I have to shovel dirt and clean it and then put the furniture all back in some sort of arrangement. After all that work, we went out for Mexican and then, as you do, we watched V For Vendetta, which is one of my favorite movies. It is also my belief that everyone should watch it every November 5th and be aware of what a fascist government really looks like. While some say we’re already there, have some perspective! This movie will help. It really is that good.
About 30 minutes until I leave work and it’s just been such along day that I am feeling antsy and just so ready to go. Ever have those days? I’m also tired and sort of sore from the last couple runs. Anyway, I’ll try to blog tomorrow too so I can keep up this habit!
How nice that you can sit outside to grade papers!! Yes – I often feel antsy when I’m ready to GO!
I’d never heard of “6 7” until it was word of the year. I mean, c’mon, it’s not technically even a word!
I watched “V for Vendetta” once, several years ago. Maybe I’m due for another dose.
