1. August is National Golf month…do you play? Do you enjoy following golf? Have you ever been to a professional tournament?
Never been much of a fan. My husband got into it a little bit two years ago; picked up some used clubs and went with friends, but he really hated it. lol. So no, we are not followers, players, nor have we – or will we – attend a pro tournament. I’m pretty good at patronizing someone by doing the golf clap though!
2. Astronaut Jim Lovell of Apollo 13 fame passed away this past Thursday. Are you interested in outer space and what’s happening today in terms of space exploration? If space travel became common in your lifetime would you go? How do you personally relate to the idea of exploring something vast and mysterious…does the idea excite you, intimidate you, or something else?
Nope. Space scares me, always has. I highly doubt I’d leave earth for anyone else. I am intimidated by how small we are in the universe.
3. Describe your communication style in three words.
Hmm, that’s an interesting question and I can’t do just 3 words, as I can be rather verbose. I think I am clear when I talk but sometimes the message gets lost. I tend to also keep things to myself so in terms of initiating, I am pretty bad.
4. Do you have a favorite cookbook? A favorite celebrity chef? Do you watch any cooking shows on TV?
No, no, and no!
5. As a child did you have any back to school traditions? If so, did you carry on those same traditions with your own children? Do you have any back to school traditions you’ve started on your own?
Hmm, I can’t remember any, actually. The only one we have for our kids is the obligatory first and last day photos. It gets harder each year though. On Monday, I took the pics of the two (Elliot is done) in the afternoon, not the morning. There just wasn’t time!
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Sorry my answers are kind of boring; I’m a mess lately. I am keeping up with work pretty well but I am also so overwhelmed by it all that I cannot think straight! I try to mentally recover at night but I still haven’t really gotten into the true habit of this schedule just yet. I left right at 3:30 yesterday (which IS nice and I am not complaining) but I had to swing by the summer camp to get Dakota’s Stanley she left back on the last day, then I had to get a loaf of bread, then I got home to pop the lasagna in the oven. We had to run to Total Wine for the stuff for Thursday’s meeting, then I was just done. Tired and whatnot. I am sure I will find my stride here at some point but for now, it’s a lot! We have a faculty meeting today and I am just hoping it isn’t long. I also have dismissal duty and have almost zero idea what is expected. So that’ll be fun! Sigh.
Dismissal might be a bit chaotic because those first couple of weeks usually are. It gets better. It all gets better. Completely exhausting at the start though. I am also in awe of how big the universe is and how small we are in comparison. Hoping you have a nice day and all goes smoothly!
It seems like the school year will only get better. You’re a newbie figuring everything out. Golf doesn’t interest me at all and it seems like it would be so frustrating and stressful; it’s a hard no for me. I hope your day is great!
School year just started. It’s probably chaotic for everyone. I bet things will settle into a nice groove soon.
Bless your heart! Teaching is not for the faint of heart – especially at the beginning of a new term. I taught for over 12 years and was exhausted every single day.
getting into the rhythm of a new school year AND a new job would be overwhelming – I can understand that! Hope it all falls into place and it gets better. The golf clap is probably the one aspect of golf that I can do well so I enjoyed that answer! Hope you’re having a great week!
Our daughter has to crash on the sofa every afternoon for just a few minutes which is hard when you have two littles. Back to school exhaustion is real! We are all cheering for you!!
Being tired…especially mentally tired…and trying to write blog posts is just impossible. I hear you on that one! Hope you have a nice weekend and time to recoup!
