Hello Monday – So much to do!

I always feel discombobulated after the weekend. I did wake up feeling like I slept pretty well though so I guess I should not complain. Anyway, weekend:

I am trying to recall Friday… I remember! I met Ash for lunch and then came home to grade papers while it was still quiet. Elliot was gone to grad bash at Universal so Isaac had to ride the bus home. He got off at a stop pretty far from the house (not sure why) so I went and picked him up, then told him to drive. He was thrown off, since he doesn’t get his permit until tomorrow, but I figured, then was as good a time as any to get a couple streets of practice in. We just went in the back of the neighborhood but he did well. We got gas for the mower then came home. I was feeling like I might have been getting sick – achey, tired – but felt ok the next day so there was that, I guess!

We just watched some movies Friday evening, knowing Saturday would be busy. Isaac had a double header in the AM so I took him to game one (W: 4-1) while Ash did his 20 mile ride. I came back and got him and Dakota and we went back to their next game ( L: 0-1) and then just the three of us went out for pizza. I don’t know why I keep going back to this one place because the service is so damn slow. We sat outside, which was nice, but we were there a total of one hour and I feel like 3 slices shouldn’t take that long. Sigh. Anyway, we mostly just did stuff around the house after; I did laundry, Elliot’s girlfriend came over. Actually, I went outside and tossed the cornhole bags around, as practice. The weather was so nice.

Sunday was very busy! I got up early to get my 15 mile ride in, then went to the grocery store. Ash rode and then we headed out to a brew club event. A newer member offered to host because they live way out on what is, essentially, a farm. It was a cider judging competition within the club so people submitted their brewed hard ciders and we judged them, which was fun. I did not partake in the judging but served. The guy who hosted actually took 1st and 2nd place. We also did a little farm tour and got to feed animals.

It was pretty fun and we were home by about 5. I know we watched some movie but I fell asleep. It was a long exhausting day!

Plus, this week is a scheduling nightmare so I feel like that is weighing heavily on me. We were going to go today to get Elliot a suit for prom and then, take Isaac out for his birthday dinner (which is tomorrow, technically) but somehow, Elliot works today. He never works Monday! So I think Isaac will skip soccer practice tomorrow and we’ll do those same things, then. I cannot believe my middle child, the one we affectionately called Baby Isaac for many many years, will be 15 tomorrow. Insane!

The rest of the week is also busy: meeting Wednesday, trivia Thursday, out of town Friday/Saturday. I am trying to take everything one day at a time. You know I had an interview last week and I did a follow up email. He replied but in some ways, it’s out of this guy’s hands. He sends everything out to departments and then they choose a candidate. Fingers crossed for me! Especially since we are doing our taxes and we owe, of course. I am so sick of money!

  1. Your weekend sounds like a good one! How fun to go to an event on farm! Brew events at farms and probably far and few in between :). I felt like, when my oldest reached a milestone, of course it was a big deal but the milestones didn’t hit me as hard until the younger two started hitting them. It was like, wait, this time and growing up thing is really happening to all of you!! So I do know what you mean. I hope you hear the best news about your job!

  2. So she’s officially the girlfriend : ) If I didn’t have my phone to see a few pictures I wouldn’t remember what I did Friday either. Is my memory getting worse or do I just rely on my phone and not bother to strain my brain? Hope you get good news on the job front!
