Friday Five – Real quick

  1. I had a Thursday post crafted but I honestly didn’t even sit down long enough yesterday to finish! For my birthday, I treated myself to success: rode 15 miles, took Ash his protein drink he forgot, got gas. Met with the guy from the city about our driveway claim (more on this later), then I got my free Starbucks and picked up from my favorite Mexican place. In the afternoon, I made dinner for everyone, took Isaac to practice, then we went to trivia!
  2. On that note, our friends couldn’t go but one of them mentioned that the music category was going to be yacht rock. BUT, Cody made it Hair Metal, which was my repeated request! I am happy to report I won that round with a perfect score because…of course I did. Now, next month when they do yacht, can I repeat?
  3. We’re off to Gainesville in about 45 mins for Hogtown. Tonight is just the pre-party with the brewers then tomorrow is the event. I’m even more excited this year because we have a lot more club people coming to help serve. Last year we had 5 of us and this year, 11!
  4. I am glad Isaac’s last tournament game is late on Sunday; should be able to see it. I hate missing any of my kids’ events, to be honest.
  5. OK, that’s it. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

  1. Happy belated birthday! It sounds like a busy one but a good one. You know it’s funny, my husband loves music, especially 80’s rock music. He plays the guitar really well and loves to play the guitar part of many of the popular songs from the 80’s. One day, we saw on TV a documentary that mentioned yacht rock and my husband asked me if I knew what that was. I said I didn’t so we both looked it up on our phones. Then about two days later, I noticed that you mentioned loving yacht rock. What are the odds that I noticed “yacht rock” in your About Me after hearing about it for the first time just two days before? Hope your weekend is going well!

    1. LOL well, it is a kind of random term that even the bands don’t care for but I always knew it as such. Well, at least from about the mid 2000s anyway when I realized I loved Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald!
