Random Tuesday – Good, bad, good

  • Aside from my oldest (and trust me, I am waiting for that shoe to drop) we have all had some version of the sick. My daughter had it first but never ran a fever and never felt bad enough to miss school. My husband fell next and he did take some time to just rest; it was just an inundation of mucus and coughing, etc. I was next, overlapping him some with the same symptoms. Never quite sick enough to take off work but felt about 80-85% any given day. My middle boy had it the worst, taking 2 days off school to sleep most of the day. He recovered, though, after about 3 days total. I feel like I am still only sitting at 90% now, even though I am effectively not sick. It’s getting annoying, let me tell you.
  • Saturday night, we got to talking about how we are woefully low on fun, individual cans of beer in our fridge – something we are used to having. So we kind of decided to just take a weekend trip up to Atlanta. They have a bottle shop called Hop City and in the past, it’s been the mecca of single cans. Great variety, as I recall. So we booked an airbnb in Decatur and we’re going the weekend just before Spring Break starts. I’m kind of excited because it’s not an expensive weekend trip, but it will be restorative. Isaac starts soccer this week and has a game Saturday but they don’t have them the following weekend so we are free!
  • I wrote those two on Monday afternoon; Tuesday I am feeling…ok. Last night I came home and made dinner but you know, I was just not me. Ate, took a walk, cleaned up the kitchen, then realized I just felt blah. Took some nighttime medication (which I NEVER do) and slept great but woke up all groggy. Now that it’s finally worn off, I feel more like me. Hope it lasts!
  • I have a lot going on today: TON of grading, cleaning up b/c my parents are visiting Thursday, riding the indoor cycle 10 miles, walking at 1 with a friend, taking my son to drop off his CIT application (he did it last summer for it’s a formality), then taking him to practice. Soccer begins now!
  • I’m excited for this season, though looking at the new roster, the good keeper they had last Fall seems to be gone. Either he opted out of Spring season or he moved up to travel, which happens often. I know Isaac wants to – he’s good enough – but I am not willing to travel 3/4 weekends every month.
  • It was rainy and gross all day yesterday but today it is sunny and should reach 70! I am ready for Spring and to be honest, summer. I hate the cold!

  1. We had a nice day here as well- I saw on my phone that it got up to 59 but it may have reached 60 at some point and it was sunny which was so nice. I hope that everyone is feeling better and that your son is spared!!
