The weekend had a lot of ups and downs but it was generally good. I had some grading to do Friday but then we worked on cleaning a lot of stuff for the Saturday party. In the evening, we watched a couple movies and that’s about it. We were tired!

I got up Saturday and began doing some last minute things like making deviled eggs, cleaning up the yard, etc. We had folks show up around 11:30 and the homebrew club party was underway.

Both Ash and Joyner attempted beer crowns and then our other friends made the throne The bigger guy there, Mike, was the person who brought the most homebrew last year so it is actually “his”, though each year a new person will get to achieve this goal, should they so choose. His wife made the crocheted beer glass – “Steiny” as they dubbed him. All in all, a good time. I think the last person, our VP, left around 7 and after putting some leftovers away, I sat down to relax!

Sunday was a recovery day; I woke up late, drank coffee, relaxed. Took my daughter to Target and then we cleaned up after the party and did laundry, watched football. It’s the end of the term pretty much for all my classes so the pressure is on. I just finished up my community college classes and I am very unhappy with myself; I had an online course and in a lot of ways, I dropped the ball on it. So few students were participating and with all my other stuff, I sort of forgot about many things in there. I did not live up to the expectations. I just sent our associate dean, who I have gotten to know over the past term, an email telling her I might change grades because I’m the one who messed up. Hopefully she understands. I admitted to really biting off more than I can chew on that one!

So yeah, it’s cold and ugly out, which makes me want to hide in my bed. Which is funny since I literally never do that. Instead, I left my table position and started grading papers in my chair under the heated blanket. But then Ash started talking to me and I couldn’t concentrate. Ugh.

This time of year is so busy, with finalizing Christmas and thinking about the new year and just everything else on my plate, the overwhelming nature of it all is really getting to me. I have to find some creative or exercise-type outlets soon or I’m gonna crash and burn.
