A quick but busy weekend!

OK y’all, I woke up at 5 this morning, feeling fully rested. What a foreign concept! I’m trying to get some work done before riding for 50 miles. Oh, and here’s hoping the rain holds off because ugh – our weather has been the pits lately.

ANYWAY, Friday around 8:45 we got out of town. It was not without strife; my oldest was being a brat about getting his stuff together and I probably didn’t react the best. Anyway, once we were on the road I guess things were fine. My kids kept doing things to poke at one another and I always thoughts once they got older that would stop. Guess not! We didn’t stop the entire drive; just went straight to the hotel. I remember this one now; Ash has had conferences there before. The Hilton with the conference center is ginormous so it makes sense. We got there a little after 12:30 and got parked, checked into the room he already had, then we changed and went to the pool.

I didn’t get any good pool pics but the boys played foosball while we snacked on (overpriced) nachos. We hung around the pool a good long while until we had to go get ready for the Pirate Dinner show. That place was cool! They had a whole replica sword area and you could hold them. Isaac loved that part. We hung out in the gift shop area for a while before the show began but then it was cool. Interactive even. I got picked to participate in the games portion (I had to raise a flag) and that was when our pirate won, which was cool. Each seating section got a different pirate. Ash took those pics so I don’t have them but he, myself, and my daughter (red shirt) got to go up for different things.

I think that was probably my favorite thing we did. We went back after and the kids just wanted to chill. Ash and I went down to the jacuzzi for a little while then pretty much just went to bed after.

The next morning we went to breakfast (Denny’s) and then right to Sea World. We got in before the even did rope drop, so that was cool. The menfolk went to Manta first and went from there. Dakota and I hung around waiting for them to take a coaster break and then they finally convinced her to go on Penguin Trek. I am not a coaster person so I held the things. That’s my theme park job! Here’s our pics and by about 4-5, we headed out.

We went back to the hotel and changed, since they got wet on Infinity Falls, and then out to a Mexican place Ash had been to before. If we are being completely honest, I passed right the heck out when we got home. I didn’t mean to; I laid down in bed feeling entirely exhausted and then woke up 3 hours later. Elliot had taken the kids down to the pool and I didn’t even hear them come back in! I was so tired from the week, the long days, and all that sun. I guess I needed the sleep.

We left the next morning, stopping in Ocala for food, then got on home, where I did laundry, tidying up, and drank a gallon of water. The weekend left me very dehydrated! I should be ok now though, I think. I hope, because as mentioned, we are about to ride 50 miles!

  1. What a fun weekend! I love how you drank a gallon of water when you got home- bet it made you feel great- I need to get better with my water and remember how great I feel when I am hydrated too!

  2. 50 miles. Yowza! We finally had actual rain yesterday which was sorely needed. Looks like a really fun family weekend! I’m also the ‘holder of things’ but hey, somebody’s gotta do it, right? Have a great day!

  3. What a fun weekend! Great pictures of you and your family at the pirate event and at Seaworld. You are lucky that you live fairly close to a lot of fun activities. Glad you got a nice nap in and feel refreshed this morning. That is such a great feeling! I hope your ride and your day go well!
