Friday Five

  1. I just had the best 2 mile run I have had in weeks. Partially, I guess, because my body just felt good but also, this was our first true cool morning. Earlier this week it was cool but not like this. This felt fall-like. Maybe the youtube meteorologists are right about an early cold fall! We normally don’t get one cool morning until at least this time in September.
  2. I was just in a good mood I think. Being on campus for so long on Tuesdays and Thursday has made me thankful for my home days. I have a LOT to get done in my courses today but at the same time, I feel motivated and I am pacing myself to get it completed.
  3. I counted on having Saturday to clean and whatnot but we are going out on our friends’ boat instead. They had reached out on July 4th about it but we were out of town, so we couldn’t say no again. You know how that is sometimes; the more you say no, the less they’ll ask. At least this time we’re headed out earlier; last time it was 2 or so before we put in and, um, way too late. I’d rather start early and end early. It’s probably the last time I’ll see the water/beach until next year. We just don’t go that often, even though I’d like to!
  4. To be fair, with these cooler temps, I’ll not want to go anyway. In fact, we may close the pool in September instead of October, depending on weather. I am also looking forward to, um, not paying the pool people for six months!
  5. I managed to get one class graded! I also helped Ash hack away at the smaller branches of the huge limb that fell last Monday. Also, that day seems like a lifetime ago! And yet, this week also feels like it went quickly. Very confusing. OK, I have to go keep working then eat some lunch and then clean up around this dump!

  1. We’ve had a few hints at cooler temps. It definitely helps with the running. Over these last hot weeks, I’m just been “maintaining” the running, not looking to increase pace or distance. I’m grateful for the sun going down earlier and coming up later, anyway.

  2. Our mornings have been so pretty and cool. We actually turned our fire table on with our coffee on the deck most day. Then it warms up enough to swim and cools off again in the evening. My favorite kind of weather! Hope you had fun on the boat!
