OK, I chose this prompt, since I’m so used to random bulleted thoughts: Write a post in exactly 10 sentences.
Wednesday felt like a shitshow in so many ways
I woke up with immense back pain and a sense of dread about my day
My daughter’s bus was late again and she kept seeing the same car drive by, making me nervous
I got to work and felt SUPER itchy, all over, for no reason whatsoever, so I went to get water so I could take an allergy pill
My senior editor was in the breakroom so I had to detour to the bathroom to wait her out, but then I made a second cup of coffee and somehow, grounds got in the cup; it’s made from a Keurig so this makes no sense!
I tried to wipe out some of the grounds gathering around the top of the mug then carefully sipped, somehow managing not to drink any
Then a friend reminded me of an appointment we’d made for Sunday at 6 pm, to take photos, as she is a photographer; I had forgotten entirely and had it in my head we had NOTHING this weekend
Soon as I got that all situated, I get a text from my neighbor with a picture of my daughter with one of the chickens from their classroom and she tells me, this one is coming home with D on Friday!
Once I realized she was probably joking, I tried to right myself but felt like I was absolutely losing my damn mind and decided that I’d take a half day… for mental health reasons.
And then it all turned around because I managed to finally clean my daughter’s disaster area of a room, make steak for dinner, then we took the youngers to the park and had a nice time.
Great use of ten sentences!! Glad things turned around for you!
How do you end up cleaning your daughter’s room? Or do I want to know?
Ha ha well, it’s just something I have to tackle before I lose my mind. I just work corner to corner but I did make her do the last 25%.
