My last post was all about how Wednesday just felt bad but today seems a lot better
- I seemingly could not eat enough yesterday. I was just hungry, so on my way home, all agitated and feeling like I was honestly not myself at all, I swung into the store and got 5 hot and spicy wings and that really hit the spot.
- After scarfing those down, I finally walked into my daughter’s room with a vengeance. She is a total slob and no matter how many times I ask/tell her to clean up, she just doesn’t. I’m talking trash and just stuff EVERYWHERE. I began in one corner and threw out trash and other little trinkets and before I knew it, was nearly done. When she got home, though, we had a nice chat, she got a punishment of weed-pulling, then she got to work on the rest of it and maybe, just maybe, understands this process a lot more and can do it herself.
- Got the steak, mashed potatoes and corn on the cob going and man was that a good meal! The Costco prime sirloins are fantastic cuts of meat. We all really enjoyed it and then around 6, we took the younger two to the park.
- Our plan was to not drink on Wednesday. Not that I think we drink too much but for weight purposes, trying to cut down. But since it’s so easy to slip into that routine – come home, relax, have a meal and a drink, watch something, go to bed – we wanted to switch things up.
- We did a bit of walking on the trails then let the kids run around. They may be 10 and 14 but kids still enjoy a playground.
- We watched a movie in the evening but by then, I was just tired. It happens; I don’t really feel stressed but my general life worries usually manifest in sleepiness.
- Finally, no plans this weekend – or at least, no out of town plans. Friday night, Ash and I are going to see a movie at the theater and then there’s a possibility a friend comes over Sunday to help us install a fan and a new door but otherwise, I plan to do some yard things, like spray weed ‘n feed. It’s looking green but there’s definitely a lot of weeds.
- April feels like it just flew by; very odd considering earlier months were centuries long.
- It’s weird knowing I will be leaving this office; I sometimes feel like a ghost here. Part of it is me – I’m avoiding talking to anyone and participating in the in-office chat sessions some of them have. I mean, what’s the point? And I don’t like feeling like they might know I have to leave but then I act like everything is fine. That’s just too weird. One good thing, on that note though, is that my senior editor is leaving at 1 today and isn’t it tomorrow and also, my big boss is out today and tomorrow. It’s a relief when they aren’t here.
- It’s bring your kids to work day so the youngers are with Ash. Obviously there’s nothing going on here. Isaac didn’t originally want to go but ended up anyway. I would typically text Ash throughout the day but I know he’s busy helping out with all the various activities his place o’ business has for all the kids.
- The first part of my morning went quickly but now it has slowed down.
- I’m probably going to eat some chicken from the House cafeteria today since the others are having pizza and my oldest is working later. We’ll probably have a few friends over to watch the NFL draft tonight but I won’t be eating any major dinner, just junk, as is our tradition.
- And since we abstained yesterday, you’d better believe I’ll be having a beer tonight! Catch ya tomorrow all.
I agree — April whizzed by so quickly! I cannot believe that May starts next week. How??
Hot and spicy wings – that’ll do the trick!
I can see how it would be awkward to be going to work as a short-timer. I forgot about take-your-kids-to-work day. I haven’t seen any on the college campus – wouldn’t be a very exciting day off from school for them, I guess!
Yes, the kids had a fun time learning all about DOT!
